Very indifferent to Torres really, due to his attitude and injury record. But if we sign him and give them Sturridge, I'll be highly f**ked off. We started this season with the promise that younger players were going to get a go. So far McEachran has been our best of the bunhc, who has started about 4-5 games. PVA has gone on loan, Kakuta has gone on loan, Bruma is being linked with a loan, Sturridge could go to liverpool... So much for that plan then. Of course this is all media speculation as usual and I am quite confident we'll reach Feb 1st without having signed anyone.

But if we do, Roman needs to give him more time and more control, so he can build from the ground up, because our squad is aging fast at the moment. 2-3 years max per manager isn't good, each one will be looking only at the short term, we need a manager in for at least 7-8 years, with time to bring in young players and establish them in the first team.

Yeah it's Opera with the problem, I tried it in Chrome and it's fine. And I can't see any scripts in the source code which would cause it. Problem with this whole situation is Benfica have total control. They have the player, they don't particularly want to lose him, so they can make us jump through hoops for him. We can either cave in to all their demands and get him, or remain rigid and stick to our maximum price and payment method, etc... and risk probably losing him. I think since Roman is looking to invest less and get us earning more of our own money, paying out in 1 lump sum isn't going to help matters, whereas over a period of months and years in installments we could do that ourselves probably with PL and CL earnings + TV money, etc... If we do cave in though, it's setting a precedent again that clubs can hike up their prices whenever we are involved. It seems to be a very precarious situation and one I'm not sure how to end.

To be honest this is dragging on a bit too long for my liking, it's starting to look like we're going to lose out. Then we'll be exactly where were were before, but with 2 less players available because they've gone out on loan. Hopefully some of our injured players will be fit soon!

A bit annoyed about this one to be honest. Cole is our only other proper left back (Zhirkov is left wing really), and he's getting on and is playing through the pain. We needed Van Aanholt to come in for a few games here and there to take the burden off of Cole in every match.
