Anelka rarely plays in his favoured position up front, because Drogba plays there. He seems a bit wasted out wide, because he just cuts inside anyway. So maybe this role behind a front 2 will bring the best out of him. By all accounts, it did yesterday.

Bruma is a reasonable player, but in all honesty I can't see him making it here. He strikes me as the kind of player who would do well at a mid-table club, but not much higher. Could be wrong of course, but that's just based on what I've seen so far. I've got much higher hopes about PVA though, I think he will be a great LB in the future, hopefully taking over from Cole in a few years time. And used as a rotation backup until then.

Only managed to watch up to about Richardson's goal then my stream failed. Listened on CFC Radio to the 2nd half though, sounded better than the first, but can't really comment much without having seen all of it.

Kalou - Erratic. One minute he's scoring a good goal, the next he's failing to control or pass a simple ball. Drogba - Wasteful. Giving the ball away a lot. Done next to nothing. Anelka - Okay. Some good link up play and put Kalou through for his goal. Lampard - Largely invisible apart from the penalty. Most of his passes are too long and through to their keeper. Mikel - Poor. Dodgy defending for their first, needless freekick given away for their second. Essien - Okay. Started badly, got a bit better. Couple of decent shots and passes. I'd hook Mikel off at HT and bring Ramires on. Then look at bringing on Malouda later on when Sunderland are tiring.

Sure I read somewhere that Chelsea said he wasn't going to play against Liverpool, because they didn't want to throw him into that kind of atmosphere on his debut. But whether it was on CFC.com or a news site I can't recall.

I find you get sh*t loads of injuries every game. One match I had 3 people subsituted off with injurys before 45 minutes had been played, then a 4th injured in the 2nd half. Don't know how much of a difference your team facilities or physios make, but it's getting ridiculous.
