- Drogba - How can he regain form ?
I read it all, but I don't have time to write an essay-style response at the moment.- Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 6/2/2011 KO 16:00 GMT
We could just try a very simple, old school flat 4-4-2. Eg: --------------Cech---------------- --Ivan---Luiz---Terry---Cole-- --Kalou---Lampard---Ramires---Malouda ------Torres------Anelka------- Or something similar, rather than having this bloody diamond which seems to fail a lot more often than it succeeds. Or mix it up with a 3-5-2 like I'm mentioned before. It plays to our strengths: 3 quality CBs (Terry, Luiz, Ivan). Wing backs pushed farther foward (Cole, Bos). 3 CM's (Lamps, Ramires, Essien/Mikel/McEachran). And 2 up front. (Torres/Kalou Anelka/Drogba). I expect he'll stick to the diamond though.- Drogba - How can he regain form ?

Hopefully we can get a win here and Torres can get off the mark, because Liverpool wasn't a very good game to go into with a new striker and a new system to try out. Then we can get a bit more confidence and Torres can start to feel more at home in the team.- Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 6/2/2011 KO 16:00 GMT
The thing that really gets to me, is just how easy it is to play against us. All the opposition have to do is stick about 7 or 8 men behind the ball, close us down all the time and we can't create anything. If every other team does that to us, that's only 2 games per season for them they have to play defensively, the rest they can go out and try to win. But that will mean every single game we will be struggling to even get a shot on target. It's very worrying, and we have to find a way to break down such a large number of defenders...but it's difficult.- Drogba - How can he regain form ?
If he's not performing, he should be dropped, just as the same should happen to any other player. On the basis of performances over the last few months, the following players should be dropped for the next game: Essien Mikel Drogba Malouda In in their place should come: Ramires - Started badly, but has improved greatly recently McEachran - Impresses every time he plays, has some creativity, which is one thing we are sorely missing Torres - Should start on his own up front in place of Drogba Kalou - As much as I dislike him, he's been a bit better the last few weeks and deserves a start Of course I'd put Sturridge in there as well if we hadn't loaned him out :/ Additionally, players like Bosingwa, Lampard, Anelka need to up their game, as they have been disappointing more often than not. So that starting 11 should be:- Di Matteo sacked
Well I'm sure Carlo will join him if we don't get 4th place this year.- Terrible atmosphere
All I heard was the scousers for the whole game. Of course that will play into the whole "best supporters in the world" crap once again. Even though they and the media fail to realise that simply being loud doesn't make you a good supporter.- Bruma to Leicester on loan
- I've had enough
What's this now? About 10 Liverpool fans so far who have signed up here? All because they beat us 1-0 in a scrappy game... Deary me, they need a new hobby.- Scouse reaction
Well it's a bit late now, you've been banned.- Scouse reaction
If you want to actually have a proper discussion on the game, or the Torres saga, etc... we're quite willing to do that. But you must surely admit it's a bit pathetic to go to a rival club's fan forum and try and wind everyone up just because you won a match. But if that's all you want to do and are not willing/able to have an actual discussion then fine. But all it does is further the view of other fans of what type of people Liverpool fans really are.- Scouse reaction
Look, we understand that you've come here to gloat and to try and wind people up, this much is obvious. But try for a moment to see things from a neutral perspective. Liverpool fans constantly go on about their history, and how they're the biggest club in the world and no-one will ever be bigger, etc...., etc... Most clubs have long historys. We were founded in 1905, we have over 100 years of history. Yes you have won more than us in the past, but that doesn't mean you "have more history". It just means in years gone by you've won more (which by the way, wasn't done on a shoestring budget either, you have plenty of money splashing around buying whoever you wanted). But the way you lot go on about it is ridiculous, it's like you think you have a god given right to win everything just because you used to win a lot back in the 70s, 80s, etc... Times change. Clubs grow bigger, and clubs grow smaller. Look at Nottingham Forest, a big club in their day, but their day has gone for now. Look at Man City, never a particularly huge club, but now they are pushing towards the top. Things change. Chelsea may not have won as much in the past (thought let's not forget we still did win a few things before Roman - FA Cup, Super Cup, Cup Winner's Cup, Old First Division, etc...), but that doesn't mean we won't in the future. And to be honest, I'd rather have a future that looks bright, than be constantly reliving past glories.- Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 6/2/2011 KO 16:00 GMT
You're still 6th you know, and quite a few points behind us. Not sure what exactly you're so cheerful about, but okay.- Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 6/2/2011 KO 16:00 GMT
Don't know what to do with myself now. Don't really feel like doing anything. Blurgh.- Top 4
There's every chance of not making it. But as long as Liverpool don't finish above us, at least that's something.- change of tactics coming
Thing is, Drogba's not going to get dropped. Even though he probably should, he won't. Torres cost £50m, so he's going to start more often than not. That means we have to play 2 up front, because neither of them could play on the wing. Which leaves us with either 4-4-2 flat, 4-4-2 diamond, or something like 3-5-2 Personally, I'd try the 3-5-2, because we have pretty good wing backs. We have 4 centre backs once Alex is back. Plus it will allow 3 central midfielders, eg: Lamps, Essien, Ramires. With Mikel as backup. And a 2 up front. Eg:- Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 6/2/2011 KO 16:00 GMT
I don't think it's too harsh really, considering what I just sat through. I know it's only football and it's only a game, but it pisses me off. Especially given the circumstances surrounding the whole Torres thing. I so badly wanted him to score against those bar stewards, but it was just typical that we played so badly.- MotM vs Liverpool
No-one deserves it, they were all a disgrace. But if I had to pick, then Anelka was slightly less sh*t than everyone else.- Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 6/2/2011 KO 16:00 GMT
Knew I shouldn't have taunted the liverpool fan at work.- Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 6/2/2011 KO 16:00 GMT
No idea what just happened to this thread. One minute it was posted and in General, the next totally disappeared, but anyway: I don't know what has already been said, but I don#t feel like reading through pages and pages of the match thread to find out, so here are my thoughts, as I need to vent: I don't think anyone can really be surprised at that. I think deep down we all knew this would happen: Torres terrible, Chelsea terrible, Liverpool win, Media cumming themselves over pictures of torres on the bench with "0-1" in the top left hand corner. There are many words I could use to describe that Chelsea performance: Abysmal is the first that comes to mind, but there are plenty of others that would do just as well: Shocking Appaling Terrible Embarassing If you wanted to stretch it beyond 1 word, you could include: Lacking ideas Lacking creativity Lacking drive Lacking ability I've seen some sh*t performances from Chelsea before (including plenty this season), but this one takes the biscuit, it really does. Man Utd lost on Sat, Arsenal dropped points, and we couldn't even find the drive, or the motivation to go out and try and win this one. We couldn't pass the ball 5 yards, couldn't control it, couldn't cross, couldn't tackle. We were outplayed totally and deserved to lose by more. Individually, terrible of course. Cech and Ivanovic, I have no idea what they were doing, but got themselves in a mess several times, which led to their goal. Terry gave the ball away a lot Cole was okay, probably one of the better players Bosingwa, made a few good runs, but more crossing, more defending Essien, one good shot and that was about it. Gave the ball away all the time. Lampard, gave the ball away all the time. Mikel, gave freekicks away stupidly again, plus couldn't pass either. Drogba, waste of space. Torres, couple of chances, but control and passing was poor. Anelka, our best player probably, but still not particularly good. It was a difficult game for Torres to make his debut, and the absolute and total lack of service to him made it virtually impossible. We were back to our usual sh*t selves. Long ball to Drogba, he mis-controls it, and then we're on the back foot again. Not width, no tempo (how many times did we get the ball, then just baically stop and f**k around?), no anything really. But like I said, this was always going to be the case and the Liverpool-run media will now go totally overboard on how Torres should have stayed there, on how they got the much better deal with Suarez and Carroll. It's too soon to judge him though, on 60 minutes against his old club. But I did notice he was very lazy, not chasing anyone down, unlike Anelka and Drogba who did. That's something he'll have to change. ANyway, I'll be avoided the football websites for a few days now, because we all know what they're going to be saying. I knew I shouldn't have watched it in the pub either, damn Liverpool fans cheering everytime Torres messed up, screaming and jumping all over the place when they scored and won. This team needs a massive overhaul in the summer, because we're very very poor most of the time, a few wins aside. And if we don't make big changes, Eg: Lots of deadweight out and good younger players in, then god forbid, Liverpool may actually finish above us next season and we'll never hear the f**king end of it. So that's my rant over now, for what it's worth. Of course it won't make any difference to anything whatsoever, but it's good to get it out.- Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 6/2/2011 KO 16:00 GMT

Torres starts according to Chelsea Radio.- Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 6/2/2011 KO 16:00 GMT
Cannot decide whether to go try and find a pub to watch it in, wearing my Chelsea Torres shirt of course. Or risk staying here and trying to get a stream, or listneing to it on the radio. - Drogba - How can he regain form ?
