FA Cup Everton v Chelsea 29/1/11 Official Match Thread

Featured Replies

Everton fans not looking forward to this game......................last week against WHU they were awful and with our win on Monday we MUST keep the revival going - so couple q's

1. play danny S? - I say yes

2. will saha score if he plays......................probably!

3. will we win - YES, 3-1 to CFC

CAN'T WAIT!

Saha has been killing us so we better shut him down.

I think we get another solid win. Haven't heard anything about Lamps playing so it will probably be the same lineup and I doubt Sturridge starts.

Game already tomorrow and it´s a big one. Everton away always a difficult match regardless of their form. We have a nice 3 game run now and it is essential to get that fourth. Lamps should be back but otherwise should be quite the same lineup as it was against Bolton.

Cech

Bossy, Ivan, JT, Cole

Essien,Mikel, Lamps

Nico, DD, Flo

Will be harsh on Ramires as he has been good lately but Mikel showed against Bolton how much we needed him and full-backs had more freedom to go forward because of him. There is a tough game coming up on Tuesday against Sunderland so we need that little bit of depth now and hope we dont get any more injuries.

Lampard will not be fit for the game , I guess .. Should Studge start the game ?

NEWSFLASH: LAMPARD IN THE FRAME

Posted on: Fri 28 Jan 2011

Carlo Ancelotti is considering just one change from the line-up that beat Bolton on Monday for Saturday's game against Everton.

Frank Lampard may start or may be on the bench.

I'd partner Terry with Luiz......

Ha ha. I was just going to write this. There is nothing like loaning out a couple players and not bringing in any. That's great for the depth of the squad. Good work Chelsea Execs.

Everton really has a chance to retaliate the final loss few years back. It is going to be tough game no doubt about it. I hope we try to attack and try to win the game in a scoring contest type of way. It smells like 0-0 all the way so I hope everyone gets surprised and we win 4-3 or something like that.

We are definitely on a roll with three wins on the trot and a clean sheet in all three.

Everton will be without Cahill which is also a plus in our favour. I believe Lamps should be rested for this game.

The starting lineup I'd like to see is:-

Cech

Bosingwa Ivanovic Terry Cole

Essien Mikel Ramires

Anelka Drogba Malouda

I predict a 2-0 victory for our lads!

Is Sturridge definitely out then? Heard he is struggling with an injury. Hope this isnt a sign of things to come for the lad, he seems to pick up quite a few little niggles.

Same team as V Bolton.

Bench. Torres, Luiz, Sanchez, Lampard (rest him so he is fresh for Sunderland game) & Josh :-)

According to Chelsea TV, the same team starts as started at Bolton, with the probable exception that Frank Lampard starts. Also Jacopo Sala is on the bench.

I heard that Sturridge missed training yesterday, but that's as much as I know.

Having a medical at Liverpool?

Ha ha. I was just going to write this. There is nothing like loaning out a couple players and not bringing in any. That's great for the depth of the squad. Good work Chelsea Execs.

Patience, we still got another day till the end of the window

Big match this one. Goodison is a tough place to go, and Everton will be up for it big time, though they will be without Cahill (who will hopefully be winning Australia the Asian Cup later on this evening).

If we win this one, we can say we've turned the corner. FA Cup is the one trophy we still have a better than average chance of winning, and hopefully our boys will be up for it, especially given the possibility of a threepeat in the tournament. I'd expect very close to a full team to start. Should be good watching, I wouldn't be surprised if it went to a replay

I will settle for a draw

A draw wouldnt be a good thing at all, we have a busy period coming up and the last thing we need is a replay.
