Actually this is pretty easy.When sturridge is back, it will be like this. Mata...Torres...Sturridge Lamp................Ramires ..............Mikel............... It's a 433 with wide forwards(Sturridge and Mata). Wide forwards are normally known as skills, their abilities to beat his man. So, can't Sturridge and Mata do that? No brainer, they can do that perfectly.So no question about that area. Speaking about Mata playmarking ability, playmarker are known as if the team's plan A failed, he will progress a plan B. So, it's pretty easy. Mata can drop back to play in the hole behind the striker,to form a diamond41212 formation with Torres and Sturridge leading the front line. This might be a bit narrow but when this happens, fullbacks will be bombing forward and receive the playmarker(Mata)'s ball. Or if you watched AVB porto, his left winger will drop back to form a 442. This might happen to Mata in some occasion.But remember what AVB said, the formation isn't the biggest part of the football, it's the footballing philosophy. And Ramires is an important player in the squad. He's an engine, he has unlimited stamina. His energetic run is useful when the fullbacks failed to go forward. When he starts his run, fullbacks and centre backs will be ready to press him and try to tackle him, this allow our fullbacks to have more space. Basically, our players are all linked up, this is really great to see.

I actually voted Anelka. He's our most dangerous attacking player. Should've done better when Foster came out from his penalty box though. Anelka scored an important equalizer, although that's a lil bit lucky, but still kudos to him.

With Lampard and Drogba are stepping down, who is gonna be our penalty,freekick and corner taker? Malouda will get lesser time if he doesn't impress in next few games with Mata joining the squad. Actually I don't mind if he's a inside forward or winger,I only wish that we can have a player who has pace,can run on the flanks,can cross to teammates and always try to link up with teammates. An inside forward is not bad too, if you look at AVB's porto, Hulk is an inside forward too. And AVB utilize Hulk and Falcao together very very well. Plus, we have Sturridge on the right side, would be interesting to see how it turns out to be.

I am not sure about is it Mata the right solution for our left wing problem? I watched some of his games, he doesn't look like a left wing, more like a CM or playmarker I think.

No no, I disagree with the statement of AVB doesn't fancy Luiz. AVB said, when we're against a 'park bus' team, we can have few touches at the back line and try to move forward. It pushes the team forward and creates more chances. In Porto, AVB always plays a high defensive line. Luiz can provide attacking threat which AVB wants.

Torres will outscore Aguero only when we settle with our midfield. Our midfield supply is in a mess now. Hate to say this.

This one, great formation.Luiz in for Alex if he's fit though. Would like to see more from Josh and Ramires. People saying we shouldn't play any DM there, I agree. but at least with a box to box midfield. So we got Ramires there. He is an engine, he can run from one end of the field to the another end for 90minutes. Josh as a deep lying playmarker, he doesn't get forward too much, but will make some late runs, just like Lampard does always. Josh might go and ask some help from Lampard :P Obviously, we have no choice on the left, so Malouda is the only player who can play there. I hate this, we really need to buy some winger. I never watch Hazard and Mata played a full game. Watched couple of youtube videos, they're good. But you got to know, every players look good in youtube. Not sure whether are they overpriced, but if we can grab one of them with under 25m, go with it! Grab both would be a bonus!

Very very sharp Torres. Kalou and Malouda were sh*t. They were not giving the goalkeeper any pressure at all. When Ramires started his run into the penalty box, where was Malouda? Where were you? That was really really poor wings play performance by us. Looking at the bench, any wingers? No. This proves that we really need to invest some money on wingers, Oh well, speaking about opponent. Stoke's set pieces were really scary huh. Giving so much troubles to our defense. Alex didn't look 100% fit. Bosingwa was better than what I expected. I am thinking what will AVB does in HT.

I rate Modric no more than 30m. I am okay with Benayoun+20/25m.If we need to pay more money than that, no. I would rather spend that money on a winger and a young talent.

He was brilliant in Doubles season, but now, nah. He always slow down the build up, he's no longer a winger, more like a goal poacher, just like what 'sydneychelsea' said. We can't sell Malouda now, especially with Zhirkov leaving the squad. Malouda has the skill inside himself, he can cross, he can shoot, he can pass. But, he just can't gel with the team, I believe with AVB's will, Malouda will comes good.
