I'm not thinking anything of the situation, just sharing the article, even though I'm very much against racism.Even if (this is if) Terry directed what he (apparently) said towards Ferdinand in a racist manner, it wouldn't really change my opinion of him. I mean, words can slip really easily in situations like that, we're talking an intense derby here. Yes, it's a racist thing to say, but it doesn't mean he wants black people in general to feel sh*t about themselves for being black, which is usually the point of racism. It was a slip of the tongue. It's like when a friend of mine called a person on telly "that stupid n****r" when a black friend of mine was in the room. He obviously realised what he said and felt extremely ashamed of himself, because he's not racist. He just happened to say something that most would've considered a tasteless joke if there were no black person in the room, but now it sounded racist. Of course, it's a bit more serious to do it as captain of England. I'm sure JT is going through a hard time now, but let's hope it doesn't become a problem within the squad. Nope, I wasn't there. I was judging the situation solely from the intensity on the pitch via TV and what was caught on cam spectatorwise.

Good post by Myles_91, although I have to admit that I'm a fan of Barton as a footballer, which is where I disagree with you. He might have done loads of stupid things before, but last Sunday he was nothing but a great captain and the best player on his team. A gentlemanlike match from him, even though the rest of his team seemed to be as far away from gentlemanlike as possible. I must say though that the derby intensity we witnessed against QPR is something that has been lacking against Spurs, Arsenal and West Ham in recent years. Yes, they're morons for hating Chelsea more than they care about their little neighbourhood club, but that makes the home fixture at the Bridge a lot more interesting too. It's really a game I look forward to a lot, and I'm pretty sure the atmosphere will be something special then, with hopefully many Chelsea loyals turning up for the match.

How were Canoville's last couple of seasons at Chelsea? He scored some quite important goals for the club, which you would think melted even the most racist supporters' hearts.I think I'll have to buy myself a copy of "Black And Blue". I still have a hard time imagining how things must've been for him back then, it almost makes you sick to think about it. I guess it's pretty much impossible to get an idea of it if one wasn't there, especially not sharing any of those views personally. It was some good stuff by Nevin, and I'm glad to see he brought up the Celtic aspect of sectarianism as well. To bring something positive out of this, I must say I'm looking forward to the home match versus the Warnock scum a lot more now. It would actually be the perfect match to book a trip to the Bridge to see the Chels, trashing QPR up and down the pitch on a sunny April's afternoon.

Seeing it again (considering SWP's size..), Bosingwa is still quite clearly pulling SWP's shirt which makes him go down. However, I'm also starting to feel it's not as much of a scoring opportunity as I originally thought, a decent one anyway.A yellow and a free kick would probably have done the trick here. I absolutely believe it's a foul by Bosingwa, but a red was way too much. In other words the exact same feelings I have with the Drogba case. e. I'll remove the video. Unnecessary to have it twice.

Terry and Lampard showed the most heart, Anelka was okay too. My vote goes to Lamps.

I would argue that Drogba's attitude off the pitch has been tremendous, as well. People only seem to remember the way he acted during his first seasons in England, which wasn't always the best. Some diving, whining etc.Nowadays I see him as a superb role model both on and off the pitch. He's a leader who plays with all his heart, royal blue through and through. I don't think there's a question about it, he's a Chelsea legend! Off the pitch he does a lot for charity in the Ivory Coast, always acts well, is never in the papers for unprofessional behavior and seems to be a down to earth family man. It was a bad day for Didier, nothing more. Life goes on.

I have to disagree with those saying Drogba's tackle was disgraceful. Yes, it was an irresponsible one, but he clearly went for the ball. Unfortunately he mistimed it and slid in with the bottoms of his boots onto Taarabt's feet. Irresponsible, not disgraceful. I would personally have gone with a yellow. Bosingwa's sending off was in the end of the day a better call. On the replay you could clearly see that he pulled SWP's shirt quite intensely, and SWP being in a position to score and Jose as the last man, I can see why he decided to pull out the red. Bad game, but good intensity in the second half after a s**t first one. Taarabt is by the way one of the most disgusting players I've come across. There's something wrong when Joey Barton is the one who gets your sympathies in the other team. He was very good.

When that IRA song was brought up, I have to add that I believe any real sectarian chants are utterly stupid and irresponsible these days. We don't live in the 80s anymore, we've got a catholic manager, many catholic players and a certain Portuguese club legend that brought us two league titles who is catholic. To this you can add a reasonably large following in catholic countries, e.g. an Irish supporters club, so chanting stuff like that is simply ridiculous and wrong. The world has moved forward and so has football. In e.g. Glasgow it's a bit more understandable, but I can't see it as right there either. I haven't heard of any sectarian related chanting incidents in recent years from our fans, except for the occasional drunk minority. Stupid behavior.

I think there's two kinds of racism. The one with the only intention to hurt someone and make them feel like less of a human being, and the one that can be considered just a good laugh. "Run around in Tottenham" is according to me the latter one.Being targeted at a "Jewish" club makes it somehow a lot more dramatic than "In your Liverpool slums" or "We hate Leeds", which I completely understand, but personally don't consider anti-Semitic. It's a song I'd probably sing my lungs out to after a few beers, even though I have no problem with Jews whatsoever. It's just making fun of their history and somehow quite clever. It's a completely different thing than chanting about gassing the Jews and that load of BS, which I consider stupid and hurtful in every way. e. As for the IRA part, I do agree that one is racist, but I don't believe it's heard in the stadiums nowadays when Chelsea play?
