I stopped paying attention at noon here in Denver (which is 7pm London time) because I didn't want to get the results of the match. ...and to add to your point, why loan a player in the final year of their contract. Either keep them or sell them off. There is no point in loaning out a player in the final year of their contract. In fact, its detrimental! Both Sturridge and Essien are in the final years of their contracts. Then there is the stupidity in loaning out any player to a rival club who you will be competing against for the next 9 months. This just does not add up. There is no rationality in doing this and frankly I think its all fiction being whipped up by the media on the eve of the deadline. The Chelsea brass are not idiots and I would like to think they are no way thinking about this awful strategy.

There is no point in a loan... He is the final year of his contract and loaning him out basically assures the end of his career at Chelsea. He needs to sign or if we are really getting Schurrle sell him off... If Schurrle doesn't come, then Danny needs to get a lot of playing time (which he will) and we need to sign him. Thing is his attitude has been proven a bit difficult with this sort of thing and he may move regardless at the end of the year. However, I don't think he will have it better anywhere else. All the big clubs will put him on the bench anyway....

That's pretty cool getting to work with Jan... I studied molecular bio and bio chemistry in school but sadly never did anything with it. I figured either of those two with Kloeden another possibility. Ulrich actually won a Tour (97 I think?) and now with Lance being stripped, may add what two more? I loved watching the Lance/Ulrich battles when it was Team Postal vs T-Mobile... They weren't as good as Hinot/Lemond but... Its a shame what the sport has become in the last decade because of the doping. Today was fantastic... Have some great shots of Jens (who's been one of my favorite riders for years now), Levi, and the young American core (Van Garderen and Phinney) that are the future of American Cycling and will challenge the bigger Euro races. Have a few of Kloeden, Horner, Basso as well. We staked out a spot where there were no barriers and right off a 90 degree turn. Each rider taking it wide were riding by within 3 feet of us in downtown Denver. Levi wound up winning overall but Phinney had a fantastic TT (while short). Jens took the King of the Mountains which is not easy here since most of the stages are in the mountains and top out at about 2 miles above sea level. It was Big George Hincappie's last race and the crowd gave him the proper support. Even gave him a farewell after the winners all did the podium ceremony. He is a legend in American cycling even if he was in Lance's shadow all those years. Most who know the sport know that George and Levi pulled Lance around France all those years. So I have to ask... What do you do? Are you affiliated with a team? Those T-Mobile teams were top notch back then. Postal, T-Mobile and CSC dominated.

Well without Google, I am going to say Jan Ulrich... Maybe Jens Voight? Speaking of the latter, he had a great stage at the USA Pro Cycling Challenge yesterday. I live here in Denver and used to live in Boulder for about 5 years and know Flagstaff mountain very well... Insane incline in a very short distance. Will be heading out for the Time Trial finale in an hour or so here in downtown Denver. Cycling/mountain biking/Cyclocross is king in Colorado and while its not as big in the States as Europe, they're expecting close to 100k people to show up. So was I right on Ulrich?
