CFC Miscellany
Wish we had a Belleti type on the squad now... He did us proud, never moaned or whined when he wasn't called upon and when he was put in outstanding effort and played wonderfully. We need players of this type of caliber and not one of all high paid signings.

Get Luiz out of the back four!
Did we have a choice to leave Luiz out? Wasn't he suspended for the yellow card on Wednesday?

The Russian is to blame
Do you think Roman will reimburse all those going to Japan? Or at least pay for their airfare? If I were going, I would travel Japan and scrap the games. I would have a better time not running the risk of watching a horrible side lose to an inferior club and chance ruining my trip to Japan... I watch these games with half interest now. All the wind has left my sails. I will admit I was adamant in supporting the club regardless of what happened but it is getting tougher and tougher to do so. Chelsea is truly in free fall! We were doing so well too and this billionaire has to come and ruin it all once again... I would rather him sell the club to a wealthy oilman from the Middle East or a wealthy Asian...

Benitez - whatever you want to say...
Well as I mentioned in the post... Its embarrassing and it makes a mockery of what the clubs front office already has done. I am sorry if you are offended by that, not made to he offensive. I simply don't want to watch supporter carrying on like this is Blackburn... Nothing to do with passion either. Accept it the club you follow thinks that Rafa is better than RDM. I don't agree with it but its not my club now is it? I just accept it and move on., doesn't mean I like it. If those that can't accept it, your in between a rock and a hard place because unless you have a billion lying around somewhere you will never have the power to change it. Again, I don't like this whole situation anymore than you do but I am not going to dwell on it because there is nothing I can do to change it.I just hope I am not reminded every week about it. Jeering Rafa with signs and chants wont solve anything but it will make us look second rate... Hopefully everyone got it out of their system today because everyone knows that Chelsea supporters do not agree with these moves. Evertlything else after this is like flogging a dead horse...

So where do we go from here?
Of course its possible but it shows no class. Why not boo and jeer Roman, he hired him. Rafa wants to coach a squad that can win trophies. In the end of the day, he wins one and he will get what he wants, a new job. And of course Chelsea adds to the cabinet and another manager next year. If anyone should be jeered its Roman but nobody will do that because he brings the billions...

Benitez - whatever you want to say...
I completely agree... It was an embarrassment to see supporters act so childish this afternoon... To each their own, I guess? If they rather the club look more of a mockery than it is lately, then so be it...

Support the team, NOT Benitez
Sorry, I find all of this to be utterly ridiculous. Booing anyone is not going to solve the sad state of affairs the clubs front office is in. Benitez said some comments years ago while coaching a fierce rival, get over it! He managed another club at the time and was in full support of it when he made those comments. Were they offensive? Sure but it was the heat of the battle. Forgive and forget, you'll live longer. I am not pro Rafa either but he's here and that's that. He is here to give his all to more than likely lock down a position elsewhere come this summer. I am sure he isn't happy about being booed and frankly supporters shouldn't be either. He's here to win games and trophies for Chelsea now, let the history die. Personally, I couldn't think of any better way to stick it to the Scousers than to have Rafa lead Chelsea to some trophies this season and who knows what happens after that? It was embarrassing to see banners and people in the corners with those ridiculoslus signs today. Shows zero class and frankly its one step away from the class RA showed in giving RDM the sack... I am sure I will be hated for posting but... I cheer Chelsea and who they have out there regardless of who it is. Everyone boasts about how no man is bigger than the club and now its time to demonstrate that. Its about Chelsea, not fecking Rafa or Roman or anyone else...

Week of hell
I'm certainly not an attorney but I would think he has grounds to sue for defamation of character and/or slander? Not on the accusation but the fact that Chelsea supposedly went public with this instead of simply reporting it to the FA...
-
Week of hell
First off, Clattenburg is not suing Chelsea even though he has pretty strong ground to do so. It was Chelsea who lodged the complaint publicly with the FA and probably should have handled this situation with much more care. Going public lodging a complaint on a ref who cost the club arguably 3 points or definitely a point immediately afterward was ridiculous. Having the complaint stem from someone with poor English only throws fuel on the fire. I blame the top brass here for not thinking all of this through. Making the complaint public instantly put the club in a terrible situation. The fact that this all went down and appeared not to be thought out only adds to the lack of credibility the administration has for the club. After this week, it is completely validated as fact. Listen to the player, lodge a complaint, but ffs, no need to go out and make it a public hanging. Back to Clattenburg, yeah he could sue for defamation but clearly the man is taking the higher road and wants this put behind him. Can't say I blame him either... His reputation and livliehood was on the line, not to mentioned smeared all over the news globally. Certainly no need to attack him on this site... What has he done wrong? Apart from a few questionable calls? Certainly not grounds to publicly ridicule the man himself. And really the linesman got it all wrong with the blown offsides call anyway...

Fans Anti- Abramovich protest on Sunday (Merged Thread)
I don't even think these two numptys had anything to do with sacking the manager this time. For me, this decision is clearly Romans. Hang a banner or twenty in support of Robbie, sing his name, chant for Chelsea, and if you really want to get under Roman's skin, bring back the Jose Mourinho chants... I doubt Roman will be even there which speaks volumes about the man...

Dream Chelsea manager?
The one who will not be sacked in less than three seasons... I don't care who it is as long as they can stay onboard for 3 seasons. Is that too difficult to ask?

The need for a 'poacher'
Always enjoy your posts Sydney... Very insightful and well thought out... Cheers!

John Terry - No ligament damage
Still a huge loss... Just not one of Biblical proportions! Thankfully!

How would you fix our defence?
Modric for me is still the best fit for what Chelsea needs... However, thats really flogging a dead horse now isnt it? Fernandinho was quite impressive as well... Be a nice addition and add a little more Samba to our already heavy handed Brazilian squad. I think Ivanovich is surely to play CB now and probably will steal more time from Luiz than Cahill. Azi on the right, Bertrand on the left. The backline is clearly not as strong as with Terry and Cole so a strong midfield that will track back is vital. That will wear on Oscar, Mata, and Hazard so RDM is going to have to rotate them more. Why we haven't seen Marin lately is alarming. Does RDM not rate him? Moses has proven to be quite useful and should get better. Still have Josh and deBruyne out there as well... Striker position has to be answered as well. I like Torres and feel he is improving but he will never be the player he was. Doesn't mean he is rubbish by any means though. I don't necessarily think Chelsea needs to go out and sign some big name that's going to break the bank either. Lastly, I like to see RDM mix up the formation a little as well... Try playing two up top or a false number 9 (Mata?) It may actually work in our favor and keep opposing squads on their heels. Think part of the problem is Chelsea being a bit one dimensional. Everything is coming through the middle and clubs are catching on. I think its why we don't see them breaking through a lot until the second half. Seem to rely on the opposing side to slip up and then make our attack. Maybe we should look at other ways and means and then those mistakes will come more sooner and frequently. Just a thought...

Crucial January transfer moves ....
Valid points and some great ideas, Star... Torres swap for Falcao, plus cash to assist in his salary could be a game changer for Atletico. And lets not forget their keeper is ours so we could dangle that in front of them like the carrot in front of the donkey. Not permanently though, just lend him out a little longer where he seems to be enjoying himself. Sturridge for me is as good as gone... Had really high hopes for him but clearly his attitude/ego seem to overshadow his ability. I would give him a run of matches up top though to see what he could do. He's been crying about it for a while so maybe that opportunity would do justice. Either he shines and says I told you so or he stinks it up and his ego is knocked down a notch. Either way, the club and the player would know where they stand... Willian wouldn't come cheap, especially now but could prove to be a good pick up... So wished we were able to get Modric because I think he would've answered all of our midfield issues (not that there are so many)... Whatever happened to Modric? Does he even play for Madrid? Such a shame but glad he's not on Spurs anymore so... Fellaini could be a great signing but at a high price. I hope it doesn't happen but I think he is going to get nicked by Utd... If they do, the league will be there's easily, even with Rio on the backline...

The Mail seem to think Franks off
China? MLS? What about a club like PSG? Carlo loves him, possibly reunion with Cole if he signs with them this summer, and he would probably do very good in France. And as some mentioned already, France is a lot closer to London than southern China or Los Angeles.. PSG may sound far fetched but it wouldn't shock me if they nicked Lampard away from the stronger rumored candidates...

The need for a 'poacher'
Balotelli would be a poor idea because of what his off pitch antics would bring. Media are already bloodthirsty for Chelsea, picking up Mario would be like chumming the waters and eventually it get to a breaking point and break. Someone mentioned Huuntelar and he would be a fantastic poacher for Chelsea and could hold over until Lukaku and/or Feruz could improve enough to play first squad football. Dzeko is ideal but we all seem to agree he will not he allowed to leave City...

Where will we be positioned at Xmas period?
Wasn't Mata recalled though? He wont get the rest and surely Hazard and Oscar will be playing on their NT's as well. Part of the problem of having to play all of these tournaments. Wish they beat Utd in the Prem match and lost Carling (or whatever it is called now?)... Still, I think Chelsea will be in third position by Christmas and probably the same in May. Hopefully there is a trophy or two to show for. The squad is just getting to know one another and will be lethal in due time. Rome wasn't built in a day and a fresh younger Chelsea wont either. Missing some pieces of the puzzle but it is looking quite promising and there are loads of talent on loan and in the academy too...
-
How would you fix our defence?
I tend to agree with Sydney and you but air sure hope we are wrong. Terry may be gone for the year and now Lampard is rumored for China and Cole surely leaving this summer. Suddenly, we would have lost the core of all our trophy winning squads, apart from Cech. I think Mata or Cahill would or could take the reigns but it surely be a bumpy road.

The need for a 'poacher'
Dzeko would he my first choice.. Not happy coming off the bench and bailing out poor performances by City week in and week out. Doubt City will sell him and can really see Mancini gone before Dzeko. Pep will come into City and send Balotelli and Tevez packing immediately for Kun and Dzeko. But if we could pry him away somehow, that be my first choice. Falcao would be too pricey... I think Feruz is our striker of the future but its too early for him to be brought up. Piazon and Feruz look like wonderful talents but just not quite ready yet.

Are Chelsea in another winter slump?
Deja vu all over again... I can see it now... 4 more months of postings about how shyte of a manager RDM is and how he has no idea what he is doing... Frankly, I am ready for Chelsea to suck it up, crash out of the CL, finish lower than 4th in the league, not win any of the seven opportunities for a trophy... It would seriously cull the herd and most supposed supporters would leave for greener pastures.
