  1. This one was really on the poor recruitment than Maresca in my view. To his credit, Maresca's adjustment made a difference, and with a bit of a luck we should be 2 up before they even had a good go at us. The poor individuals, such as the GK , striker ( or lack) and CD decided the game for us. Villa throw on Rashford and Malan, we had literally nothing in response. The GK was a joke, who thought it was a great idea to buy a bunch of number twos and expected them to do a number 1 job. Now what, bring back Sanchez, or have a go with our number 3 ( or 8) GK?
  2. For once, a 22 year old didn't want a 8 year contract, shame on him 😅 Of course, CL was probably the biggest blocker, if he wanted to join us, could have done it a couple of seasons ago. If we are going to build on this youth model, these 2 should and need to do a much smarter job. Buy a bunch of youth for 15-20M and never good enough to play for the team, is not going to raise re-sell values. I'm not even going to get into the Felix deal.
  3. That's another positive he didnt even mention during post game talk 😆 Most of us had the feeling something like this would happen, again referring to the Leicester's last season. My biggest is he's not getting much out of the players, I can't say anyone has really improved this season.
  4. When are we playing Southampton again? That's one team I see us beat for sure 😁 I mean with a but of luck on the day, anything could happen on a given day. But given the way we been playing, hard to see us getting results consistently ( which we need to get back into top 4). Maresca is still the right manager for the owners, so far he hasn't said anything counter productive to the owners, and every transfer move they made, he followed without a complain.
  5. Let's face it, we aren't going to attract the best managers out there. I'm going for an Iraola or even Silva ( from Fulham). The type of managers who play good football with limited resources, and got good game plans. I mean we already got a manager without EPL experience until this season, so how much worse could Iraola do?
  6. It will be the Rahsford show, but at least we dont have to face the mighty Diasi 😁
  7. Pretty sure he can't do it all by himself, but not hard to get help these days🤔
  8. The owners won't go anywhere until they get their money back and doubled, so likely we will get another manager with similar traits, or just stay the same and save some money, Like Maresca, there are positives in losing,
  9. He definitely said the right things yesterday to keep him in the job. The thought of 5-10 years to make us competitive again is like music to the ears of the owners.
  10. It's really a walk in the park, for them Brightons. First time since September 2021 for a complete shutdown like this, just to rank how incompetent this bunch among the bad and worse Chelsea teams. After 30+ games this season, we still have no pattern in defence, apart from concede plenty goals. Somehow Maresca found a way to keep Palmer out of the game and less effective each game, something the other 19 managers in the league had problems for the past season and half. The attitude is all there to be seen, Brighton was pressing hard in the 90th minute, we were just happy to jog. Chasing 3 goals, we still managed to pass 10 times before getting the ball to the half way line, and they only needed 1 or 2 passes.
  11. The next half dozen games will either prove Jackson is more valuable than most people gave him credit for, or we don't really need him. Either way, there are positives in it 😅 If I was Maresca, I would work on Nkunku, get his mind back on the job and start delivering.
  12. He's just lazy, great players always demand the ball and want to take opponents on, rather than do a couple of flashy acts and sleep walk the rest of the game. His work rate it defending is even worse, may not be his top priority but most top teams demand their wide attackers to do their share of defending ( unless you offer much as Hazard in attack. There's a good player in him, but so far several managers have failed to get it out of him after he left Dortmound.
  13. At least Nukunku will get consistent starts ( if he wanted it). Alternative is some kind of false 9, but we don't have that much choices either, maybe give James a go there, he's got a good shot even when he's not match fit😁 How many first team players are we missing now, seems to be quickly adding up without notice. It's not long ago we have an overloaded squad, now we looked pretty thin.
  14. Good points raised, but don't think any top line managers want a job where promoting youth ( for profits) is the priority. Kids don't win anything, we are half way into the third season of the project and haven't got much to show for, after spending billions. Yong players are more like icing on the cake in my humble view, if you have a 8-9 core players to rely on, much easier to blend couple of young players in and watch them prosper.
  15. FA cup does looks very winnable with the teams remain. I mean anyone could have a field day against the 2 Machester teams, and Newcastle has their sights on the other cup. Oh well, unfortunately we were out too.🤔
  16. That's a really funny after thought post cup game, I mean how many games have we lost when he was playing in recent months? We been missing a good striker, and unfortunately Nkunku hasn't stepped up and the young striker is out for the season. How much we miss Jackson is just a whole debate not going to get into right now.
  17. To be honest, now look back at our last season, With that many injuries, Poch has done a pretty decent job, despite losing the cup final ( deserved the criticism) . We had a good run when everyone was fit, even for 24 hours we looked like challenging the title. As soon as Maresca told people to calm down, and a few players started to drop in form , we looked a completely different team worse off. The January window was a disaster as far as reinforcement, but then again Macresca need to get more out of the current bunch.
  18. Conference league is his level, given the players we got rid off, not surprised he's included. I'm sure he would have been loaned out if not for this little 'substances' incident. Again, could have been a complete different story if we let Arsenal buy him.
  19. Yes, the first part was particularly awful, I hope it's caused by some language barriers , because even if you meant it, you should never say it out loud. The next thing will be ' it will be good not to be in the top 4, so we could rebuild and win the Europa'.
  20. Never understood the logic behind his signing, apart from been a good will to Maresca and Leicester. I mean, Maresca barely played him, even after full season at Leicester. Just prove he's not up to the standard, even in Maresca's view.
  21. Need to either get to top 4 or at least win the conference league ( seems to be ours to lose). After Potter, I'm really skeptical of sack a manager during this time of the season. If we do, is basically another season written off as a transition. There are no proven managers to come in at this time of the season, and abide all the rules our supreme leaders assigned. I may change in mind if 4-5 loses come up, but I hope we stick with him until the season ends, at least people running the club could pretend to spend time finding a proper manager for next season.
  22. Just like the City game, opponent gifted us a goal, we didn't do much with it, handed back the initiative pretty much straight away. Defensively we are still all over the places, and I do not believe change CB pairing helps either ( unless there's an injury I'm unaware of). Palmer is drifting further away from the goal ( despite scoring one), while the rest of the team couldn't finish to save their lives. When Nkunku passed to Palmer when he was in prime position to shoot around 30 minutes mark, we all know the player was low on self belief.
  23. If my memory is correct, last season Leicester stuffed a similar type of collapse during the winter team. Eventually they got out of it and reached their promotion target, but that was against weaker teams in their division. I think it's down to teams figured out his game plan, there are players in key positions aren't performing and he's not be able to solve it ( lack of transfer didn't help), and some players really haven't progressed under his leadership. I wouldn't say it's crisis or Enzo out time yet, but his position right now is similar to what Poch was this time last season. I have to say it, although Sanchez didn't cost us the game, what's the point of him playing this game? It's an important game, and if Sanchze is not currently number 1 in Maresca's book, why playing him?
  24. By that time Spurs will have a new manager, never know what could happen to him 😄
  25. Have to say, Liverpool is a leave above the rest of the league. They are going to do some serious damages if they keep the key players fit. Same old Spurs, no plan B taking a 1:0 lead to Anfield, just to show what a clueless manager Big Angie is.
