  1. Agreed, it offers better balance than having Enzo there for either one, especially against better teams.
  2. I thought we actually played well, apart from the fine details at the both ends of the pitch ( which is the hardest part). Our build up in attack was fluid, by passed their high press quite easily at times, nullified most of their threats. A draw would have been a fair result, for once Palmer didn't bring the goals, but he created huge chances for others, so no complain. What's frustrating was the ease we conceded the 2 goals, especially the second one when we just switched off completely. Was it just me or Badeshire and GK trying to slow play out from the back just pure madness? We were running out of time, yet there were still pointless short exchanges just around our own box, when Liverpool weren't even pressing.
  3. First game of the season? So he's rested well 😄
  4. Agree Lavia has to play, either as an extra Midfielder or in place of Enzo ( which will be a brave call). Left side defence will be key, need the extra help to cover Salah and TAA. We will score, the issue is how many we could keep them down to.
  5. To be fair he made some good saves in the last few games, would have lost if he didn't save that shot in OT. It's the ones he let in that bothered people, the one last weekend was a soft one, 2 the week before was a bit of comedy ( although that game was comedy too)
  6. Most of the fans knew what we were in for when we signed him, a good 20-25M player who has flashes of brilliance, but in lots of games not offering much, and let the big moments slip by. 11 against 10, one would think it's the perfect setting for Felix to use the space and time to craft something, yet he delivered very little apart from the one huge miss. On those day or nights when we were beating the other teams up and no pressure, he'd score a goal and setup some, but I would argue most players off the bench could do that too. He's a luxury, that's why he tried and failed elsewhere.
  7. He will get games in conference league and Carbaro cup games, other than that can't see him getting starts unless there's a huge injury crisis. I'm pretty sure people are planning a way out for him, can't see many top teams want to take a chance on him ( even it's a loan), and sitting on another team's bench isn't going to help anyone either.
  8. The media spins it either way depends on the demand. The feeling this year seems to be the change of guard, so of course Arsenal will get all the applaud. Under Jose, we have won games like that, and was seen as anti-football. Arsenal scored 2 goals that could have been easily choked off on another day, and was applauded as clever thinking and good set pieces play. The amount of time wasting was atrocious, of course it just showed maturity and desire to win at all cost🤔
  9. Saying this as a compliment, the way Arsenal played ( and parked the bus) was just prime time Jose at Chelsea and Inter. They aren't going to score 100 goals a season, but concede under 20 will probably win the title or get really close ( again).
  10. First World cup I watched was Italy 90, damn that Schillaci guy was good at scoring goals, even I didn't know much about the game of football.
  11. Same old Spurs, always find a way to lose the derby. It's great we missed out signing Johnson, just a headless chicken with no end products.
  12. Prove people wrong who accused him of only able to run, and very little technical ability to play for a top team. I'm happy for him, of course he won't come back anytime soon, deserves better than being told not good enough for Chelsea.
  13. Not sure what's this got to do with CFC, did the bonus scheme come out after the drew, or before? I assume they'd get the same regardless who they play against.
  14. Not a lunch time kick off, Kepa is on their side, should be an easy win. I'm still surprised they would let their number 1 goes to Arsenal as a backup, and get our number 2 ( or 3) GK to cover the huge gap. If we are 2 up by 80th minute, don't expect us to fold like Everton 2 weeks ago.
  15. Surprised no English teams tried to loan him, few goals at a team destined for relegation was good enough for most newly promoted teams and teams in the championship. I do like how the owners and SDs tried to offload players to all over the world. But seriously, why would a footballer goes to a country completely unknown him, when he could just live in London and still get paid?
  16. What's the Mikel's role in this, with the amount of interest he showed, think he's more involved than just an ex-player and pundit. That's a lot of praise for a guy who failed to get over the line, imagine if he did get the deal done😄 Try it again in the next window?
  17. Didn't they lose the last game 1:2? 😎 I expect group qualification, but there will be a few slip ups
  18. So what's next, fight it in the court, or a good old Mexican shoot off?😗
  19. Yes, I got the feeling Boehly is a bit more focused on winning on the field than the others. But again, could turn out completely different.
  20. Like Man City? 🤔
  21. To maintain a challenge to the top 4, we will need to rest key players for the group stage. We should have enough depth ( bar an injury crisis) to make it through without Palmer or Caicedo . We will take a few hits in the group stage, but at the 1/4 stage who's going to care you lost a game in Belgium back in October. If the likes of Mudryk or Diasi couldn't cut it at Europa conference league, they are playing at the wrong level.
  22. So when push comes to shove, we will drop to 15th to save 20M+ 😄
  23. It's rare a guy at his age decided to go to Saudis. That hype train won't last forever, he's going to earn a lot of money, but probably never play for a big or even decent European team. Yes the Saudis have been good to bail them out, but don't expect that gravy train to last for long.
  24. It's international week, every second player will find a way to get out of it with 'precautions'.
  25. Yes, It's about building a self-sustained ecosystem where they could make healthy profits every year ( after initial investment for X years). They made some money, as most rich people do they will write off some of the losses with some creative tax claim. Winning on the field is way down from the top of their list, think we all see that by now.
