  1. The temptation of pure profits always out weighted everything. Considering Cucureall was awful on many occasions last season, and we picked below average players in the squad, Hall could have easily stayed and played some parts of the season, if not exceeding.
  2. Going to agree with this, needs proven ability in the back line, rather than trying out every kid we have at disposal. The other thing with throwing a local lad in is once he gets 10 games and attract some interest, all the sudden he's another candidate for the pure FFP cash. That Lewis Hall looked a good player, not saying we could buy or he's willing to return.
  3. 5:0 with Felix getting a hat trick😁 We need to start winning, even it's cup games against lower teams
  4. Bit of a stretch to imagine how KDH could possibly fit in and get a game at Arsenal, but again if the interest is real, for all means drive him to their training ground. I think it's part of the Maresca deal ( even if we didn't have to), it's the whole FFP game, which I have long lost interest to learn how to play.
  5. Definitely an option, instead of paying big for young players yet to be tried out in the league, be a no-brainer to get a proven player that's ready to lead the line on day one. Yes he will cost a lot, but success has a price. We may just need to shed a few squad players, and to be honest I don't mind that at all.
  6. Back to the pattern of lots of the games last season. Palmer is still the main and probably only spark, scored one and arguably created a couple of chances that should have won the game, if not for the usual suspects. The likes of Neto, Sancho, Enzo etc need to step up in attack, and I aren't even going to mention Jackson. 10 days ago, we looked really comfortable holding on the third spot, now with the few chasing teams with better forms, we looked really vulnerable. We meant to have a deep squad, but even without the injury tolls from last season, we actually don't have lots of options. Everyone had their fun moments, but when it's hard at this time of the season, few have stepped up. We can all talk up giving the likes of Nkunku and Felix more game time, but when they played ( aside from Thursday night football at nowhere), they were just poor and don't deserve more game time. Actually, I'm giving Maresca a break here, the team is still poor, he's done good to get us this far, now it's the time to really earn his long term career with Chelsea.
  7. Never looked at it that way, but could have some grounds. The others tried harder with his presence, and when he plays he does create chaos. A few months with Dortmound ( or similar) may just be the cure.
  8. The so called 'B' team players need to do better, can't rely on Palmer to win us every game. The likes of Felix, Diasi, Nkunku aren't kids but expensive players, really should have done better. Our position on the table is better than expected, we are on track ( if not better) in terms of reaching the season objective.
  9. Probably dont deserve the last couple of poor results, but sometime you win and sometime you lose. When we were on the good run, couple of results were fortunate, fair to say these things event themselves out by the end of the season. We are very much on track to finish in the top 4, which was the objective, title talk was premature and optimistic to say the very least.
  10. Apart from being the game after international break, should win this one quite comfortably. This is the style of team we like to play against, once we score first and the game opens up, could be get 3-4 goals.
  11. Soon we could 10 GKs with Palmer on the field, or 11 GKs if we try hard enough. Brighton didn't miss Sanchez after the sale, pretty sure Liverpool won't mind losing Kellegher to us either. We basically paid big bucks for number 2 GKs clubs trying to offload.
  12. I thought it was a bit of a nothing news, but it's Liverpool and beloved Klopp, sure there should be serious consequences 🤔 At the end of the day, dont insult or say outrageous things unless you are running for president or something. Fair punishment be a short ban as if he had a couple of shocking games, long term or life ban is ridiculous and way over the top. WTH want be a referee these days anyway? 😐
  13. I don't buy the theory that Nkunku can't play as the striker, when you have Jackson just cruise through the game without even being noticed. It doesn't take 80+ minutes to realize Jackson is not having the game everyone wanted, so either Nukunku or someone else should be put in a lot earlier. You rather have a goal scorer on when the game is in the balance.
  14. Decent result and a fair draw. We kept Arsenal to 1, which is a very good effort. They had a couple of close ones, but nobody would claim they carved us up. Great individual effort from Neto, think he got that spot nailed down. The midfield combination is starting to pay dividends, I think we'd be 2 or 3 down if Enzo started. We played 4 big teams so far ( let's include United for argument sake), got 2 draws out of it. We will need to beat the Spurs and Villa if we want to be the standout candidate for the 4th spot.
  15. It's about time we get a result against them. Just like the United team, don't think Arsenal carries that much aura right now, we play to the best of our ability we can beat them. We just need to cut out the madness from the back ( noticeably the GK), and find ways to neutralize their biggest threat in Saka ( and Oddegard if he plays). Last thing I want see is Havertz celebrate in front of us ( as much as I don't hate the guy )
  16. It started to look like a 'good will' signing by the SD to support the new Manager, although we would never know whether Enzo asked to sign KDH. His only meaningful minutes were in the match we were cruising, those are typically reserved for youth or those short of match fitness. We know he's capable of handling Conference league, but you could shove a Lesley or Santos in, and they could do that job too. Maybe we just need the extra HG player, who knows the real reasons
  17. Apart from Palmer, anyone could be rotated or dropped. I like his direct approach and every game he will have those 3-4 threatening runs, but my feeling is teams have worked that out, just don't let him cut inside and he will give it away eventually.
  18. I think it's going to be another draw. Arsenal hasn't be good lately, we are in with a good chance ( assume Palmer is match fit), but the usual slips up from our backline and GK will be capitalized.
  19. With 8 GKs on the book, I doubt we'd spend big on a GK, unless he's under 20. Kepa on loan and hardly getting a game, I doubt anyone will buy him. So the roster isn't getting smaller next season.
  20. Felt like 2 points lose. I know there's always the new manager ( or interim manager) bounce, but the players don't just improve because of that. At the end of the day, there's a team on 14th, and if we want the top 4 we need to beat teams like that. I don't think we played well, but had the best chances in the late part of the game to win it, and their PK was a gift. Attacker wasn't going to get the ball at the by-line, he's looking for it and Sanchez played along. Caicedo and Levia are the first choice combination going forward, Enzo needs to earn his spot back, and missing a chance like that isn't going to help.
  21. Not going to blame him much for Wednesday, think it was all planned out. The plan was to rotate the team and hoping to get a result, and in the end we fall short by quite a bit. When you have such a big team, especially expensive players who couldn't make it to the bench let alone starting, you have to rotate quite aggressively in these cup matches. Ideally, should have done it in the conference league against weaker teams, not a PL side that not going to lose 2 games in 4 days against us. Still think we need to trim the squad comes January, what we have now is just not sustainable. Again, not Maresca's fault he's been given a huge squad.
  22. It's a bit of a long memory lane, but he did have a good couple months when we signed him. Now looking back, it's either Silva helped him out, or the injury after that completely ruined him. But speaking of injury, who hasn't got one in the last couple of seasons, and most able to recover to the level prior to injury.
  23. Defence was awful, could have easily conceded 4 or more. Offensively we didn't do much without the Palmer lead attack, best chance fall to Felix who really should have done better, that was the moment for any sort of fight back and we never asked questions again after that. Not a big deal to get knocked out early, more time for rest and training will do us good in the long run. I certainly won't miss the likes of Badeshire playing
  24. Yes, managers tend to say that after an easy win - just keep doing the same thing lads, hope to play you again in a few months time 😇
  25. I think it's nice Liverpool respected our ability and adjusted, but ultimately they won the game so there's not that much consolations for us. Liverpool wasn't good on the day, but they didn't have to either. We aren't title challengers, getting the top 4 would be a great improvement. Against better teams, we aren't going to score 3 goals a game, so adjustment will be required.
