It's all relative. All those fans that started supporting the club when Hoddle brought Gullit in are probably thinking finishing outside the top 4 is a bad season but if you've stood in the shed on a cold Tuesday night watching dross in the old division 2 in the 80's, you'll know what failure is all about. When Roman takes his money and runs, then we'll see a dip in fortunes but until then, enjoy the parade! KTBFFH

Just watching the highlights on SKY and you're bang on with the comment about Francis. What a c**k, he criticised Torres at every opportunity including suggesting that Torres should learn from Branno about positioning in the box. Hopefully he'll start to score regularly and shut these f**kers up.

MIght be unpopular but I'd say a lot of the problems stem from Roman. Yes, without him we wouldn't be where we are today and whilst I love the fact that our club is now regularly battling at the top end of the table, I can't help think that his rash hiring and firing of managers and his desire to be close to the players by letting them use his yacht and having meetings with the players behinds managers backs have developed this horrible culture whereby the players genuinely think they're in charge and the manager (whoever it is this year) is just a puppet. The old guard of Drogba, Terry, Cole and Lampard need to be eased out IMO. In all honesty, these players are in their twilight years now anyway and we should be looking to the future. Whether AVB is the answer, I don't know but a manager needs to have 2-3 years to stamp his mark on a team and you cannot change a squad overnight. I'm not a fan of AVB BUT if he goes, we'll bring in another newbie who will immediately have to be mates with the old guard or face their wrath. Then we'll all be on here again in 2013 repeating the same threads.

Hi everyone, Chelsea fan from the west country here. I've been a fan since 82 when the blues caused a shock against Liverpool in the FA cup. Favourite players would include Dixon, Nevin, Zola, Robben and Parker (delighted when we signed him, gutted when we sold him). The current bunch need a serious shake up IMO. Sadly some of the players have grown bigger than the club (in their own minds) and have sucked up enough to the owner that now any manager has a tough time taking control. Anyway, lets not get too moody, plenty of time for that in a different thread! lol
