  1. Of course they will do so, this is where we run in to a problem. Our lads can say what they like but the end of the day the FA will always back the officials word over the players. Will see what the MET can dig up I guess...
  2. Team I would like to see for this one: Cech, Cesar, Cahill, Luiz, Bertrand, Ramires, Romeu, Mata, Oscar, Moses, Sturridge. Hopefully Marin gets the second half.
  3. So many stories, the one the FA will likely go with is "bitter Chelsea sling false mud at top ref"...
  4. Agree with mad_mac there, but I doubt we can prove he said it. It will be a case of our players say he said one thing, him and his other 3 officials say he said another. FA will bury it through lack of evidence. If, by some chance, we have undisputed evidence that shows him saying the above then it would surely have to be taken as a ref telling someone his side will not win, and as the man in charge taken as match fixing? How could the FA allow that to come to light? They would be left with no choice but to strike the match off, order a rematch and ban him for life. No way that will happen. But they might be willing to hang him out to dry on the racism charge, be seen to be talking this ever growing bubble without the actual integrity of their leagues result coming in to question. would that appease us enough to allow the other matter to drop? A possible more likely outcome, though burying it is still the most likely. Very interested to see what comes of this IF, and a big IF, we can prove he said these things.
  5. True Moos, and I would enjoy winning the Cup, but I just do not see any other outcome than their reserves beating ours like with Liverpool last year.
  6. We lost the big one so winning this will not make up for it, losing it will just add one more flick of salt in the eye.
  7. Yeah we cannot complain that the ref was useless, more or less an "on the take" as we will then get a charge from the FA. However we can complain this way. What it seems like to me.
  8. Having seen the highlight is unfortunate not only my scoreline but the general way I saw the game going came to past. Trouble on Cole's side on both goals (he has been very up and down this season, maybe cause he knows this will be his last season?). RVP being superior to Torres, both defenses looking frail. As I said before had to be right for the second time this year two games in a row... Bad luck overall, OG first goal, both reds and the offside winner. On Brana's red I do not think Cahill would have got back, but Brana has not tried to take Young out. There is the merest contact, Young goes down and the ref goes for the red. Yet when Torres goes down after small contact it is a blatant dive and he should be sent off? Never mind the lack of constancy over the course of a season, in one game a defender makes accidental slight contact and is sent off, another makes deliberate slight contact and the forward goes off for diving? In both Sky games the officials get the last big call on offside horribly wrong, which is not good enough since they are now supposed to be "professional". Professional what, cheats? We robbed ourselves with awful early defending, I can understand to a degree why Coles head is off at the mo but what Brana's excuse is for a truly rubbish defensive season from him so far is I do not know. Luiz and Cahill look nothing like the pairing that were lions against Bayern. Then when we woke up, actually showed some quality; we showed we could match United and put them on the back foot. The ref then takes the game away from us. Nothing more to say really.
  9. Our next two home league games are Liverpool and City lol... I guess had we been offered 9 points from 12 against Newcastle, Arsenal, Spurs and United we would have taken it. But still...this hurts deep... Not a good enough start though. Ref can be blamed but he did not cost us those two early goals, nor is he at fault for our defense, and Brana especially, being garbage of late.
  10. *sigh* first score prediction right of the season I think, why did it have to be THIS game... Very depressing...
  11. Please lads, a late leveler so the week ahead does not look so bad?
  12. No one left on the pitch that can do something special for us is there? No Hazard, No Mata, No Oscar. Not even Torres...
  13. Btw Fergie's interview will contain the usual "about time we got luck against Chelsea" quotes, with the one sided remembering of what has gone against them rather than in their favour.
  14. End of October again, back to back defeats. The wheels coming off will be in the press headlines tomorrow. Losing that the Bridge, one of the worse ways to ruin a Sunday and the week to follow.
  15. 9 men? Really? Really? So about that earlier comment about United NOT having Webb for this game?
  16. That is just asking for a pen to be given against is lol...
  17. Not counting any chickens yet, this is Man United we are talking about...
  18. City and Arsenal won, Spurs winning. Leaves the pressure on both sides heading in to this one, but more so for us given we are at home and need to bounce back from the result in midweek.
  19. Yikes what a bench they have, nothing to help them defend a lead but so many options to help them get goals.
  20. They have been on about their slow starts to recent games a lot in the media. So can see you being right and Fergie firing them up. If we are not awake it will be us losing the early goal rather than them.
  21. Am thinking my 2-3 might end up too low scoring, these line ups just have the recipe for goals, goals and more goals.
  22. Our line up is as expected. Those fearing United would bottle up the midfield do not need to worry about that now, Young and Valencia will get wide as Fergie looks to expose our defense through the middle with Rooney and RVP, and out wide with Valencia on Cole (one of the few wingers who, more or less every game, gives Ash a real hard tine) and Young looking to pull Brana out of position. Those line ups suggest a 0-0 is rather unlikely, could be several goals before the break.
