Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 11/11/12 KO 16:00 GMT
Now why do i get the feeling that, in this situation, it would be 3-0 to United with RVP or whoever nailing these chances and ending the game? Can see these misses coming back to bite us on the behind.

You think they will start most games with Luiz not in there? I doubt it. We badly needed JT for the Juve game coming up. Without him it will be very hard to avoid defeat there.

Hopefully we can get an early update on JT, but given he had to come off I would say it will not be good news. More of Luiz and Cahill at the back together....dear o dear...

And I doubt we will or be able to keep a clean sheet. I like Cahill but with a defense of a new buy at RB and a young lad like Ryan at LB having a true leader and organizer like JT at the back is imperative. Not matter the result of this one if JT is out for a long time we are the losers today.

See what happens when you go on about the game being easy? Huge loss if JT is out for another long spell.

Did say earlier in this thread I felt we could do well off set plays. Though we have less aerial options in the side than I expected to help with that.

I doubt we will find the answer out to that one today.

Good question. He was a CF at points at Palace so the easier answer would be Torres. Out of the midfield 3 I think I would have put Hazard on the bench for this one, as him fresh later as a sub against a Liverpool defense that had Moses running at them for a good hour could have opened a few doors.

Moses should have started for me, has deserved it for his recent form. Cahill not starting still baffles me but Brana apparently wants to be used at CB mainly and several on here wanted Cesar to start.

Liverpool have adopted tactics to shut us down, it will likely take some time for Robbie to figure out a way to readdress the balance. Today will tell us a good amount. Can we challenge with the likes of United and City, who win when playing poorly and giving away a few goals head starts; or are we fighting with the Arsenals, Spurs and Newcastle for 3rd and 4th?

Baring Shakhtar, when we gave them the lead back within minutes, when have we not started poorly of late?

Think Webb would rather offer United some breathing room than stick it to Liverpool today imo.

Odd that Brana is at CB and Cahill dropped. Interesting line ups from both sides.

Villa are pretty hopeless, expecting them to get anything off United even with a 2 goal lead is asking too much. As for Hernandez, given the abuse JT gets for all of his indiscretions I'd rather not sling mud myself at another teams player for who he may or may not be off the pitch. All that matters to me is what he does on it, and he is clearly top quality. In fact I would go so far as to say since the Drog left and United bought the best forward in the league they now have the best 3 options up top in the whole league. That is why i expect them to win the league, through sheer firepower.

Chelsea FC make a profit!
If you are going to take the time to make a profile and come on and wum our forum, at least get your terms right in doing. Spending a lot would take us back in to the Red, something which you most likely are, not the Black. Being in the Black is a good thing, Red is being in debt and Black is in profit.

On your first point I would argue that all three are, at their best, essentially play makers, Allen and Sahin usually from deeper positions to Gerrard. They lack the defensive type midfield alongside 2 of the 3 of them, such as Mascherano or Lucas. This also covers your third point. On your second point I do not see creating chances being a problem for you. Our back line is nowhere near its best, your midfield and wide options offer the ability to create and score goals. Johno is arguably the best offensive right back in the league, alongside our own Brana. I would agree on your fourth point, our ability to break at pace may be our best weapon against you. If the Drog was still here I would also put a stronger mention in for set pieces as well. Mata offers a very good dead ball delivery most of the time; and should we have Brana, JT, the free scoring Gary Cahill and possibly Victor Moses playing with your best options to mark them being both CBs, Gerrard and Johno we may be able to get at you that way. Now if the Drog was up top would be an even better chance.

Well let's hope Ryan can step up for this one, Liverpool will have seen how Shakhtar got at him in midweek.

Moses deserves a start, 2 goals in two games, last one saved our CL butts without a doubt. How did that attitude work at QPR? Can understand why a lot of my fellow Blues have built up a dislike of Liverpool FC and vice versa, (not a feeling I share) but they are deserving of respect. Am sure the Liverpool fan on here will admit that, at points this season, they have been garbage, but they do raise their game in the big match ups and we will need to be at our best to beat them. As for a side to face them, rather hard given we do not have a "striker" worthy of the name, but Cech, Brana, Cahill, JT, Cole, Ramires, Mikel, Moses, Oscar, Hazard and Mata Might be worth a try. Mata is our best finisher at the mo it seems.

Chelsea v Shakhtar Donetsk (CL) 7/11/12 KO 19:45 GMT
Huge, huge result, massive last minute goal from Moses. Had we not won this one we would have been all but out, now so long as we do not lose in Turin and we are very close to being in tot he next round. Looks like we should have snapped Willian up, not too late mind you. They have a very good side without a doubt.

Mata is finishing a lot better than Torres at the mo...- Chelsea v Shakhtar Donetsk (CL) 7/11/12 KO 19:45 GMT

Nah cannot see that, more like a 1-2 or 2-2- Chelsea v Shakhtar Donetsk (CL) 7/11/12 KO 19:45 GMT
We do not have a good enough option at CF, we let the drogs go and put ourselves firmly reliant on Torres, and that appears to be a rather huge mistake. 1-1, we are not deadly enough to finish a side of their quality off imo. - Chelsea v Shakhtar Donetsk (CL) 7/11/12 KO 19:45 GMT
