Aina is nowhere near close to ready. I think we actually need a RWB more than a LWB.

Kalidou Koulibaly
Of course you're right. But that doesn't mean a club says "he's valued at 50 mil" and you give them a 15 mil offer. And then when it's inevitably rejected, you start giving them new offers in 3 mil increments. It's actually disrespectful.

Fair enough, I was going to say top 8 but that's without looking at the numbers. Still, for a club of Juve's size, it just shows you how wide the margin is between the PL and Serie A financially.

For some reason it seems like we haven't been interested in Mendy. Maybe Conte doesn't like something about him. Not quite sure. Either way, getting arguably the best LB in the world wouldn't hurt.

Kalidou Koulibaly
This is like when fans are having a go at an underperforming manager and other fans say "do you know more than the manager? Well be quiet then!". I don't need to be a chef to know a good steak. It's clear Marina and co aren't doing something right. Or at least haven't been doing things the easier way for the last 3 or so windows.

Kalidou Koulibaly
I get the feeling this is an ego game for Marina. Because I don't see why we always feel the need to low ball clubs time and time again.

Juve definitely pay a lot more than the rest of Serie A but compared to English teams, they don't even come close. We can comfortably double Sandro's €2.5m/year wages and not bat an eye. Juve can't (or won't) do that. It'll ruin their wage structure (which is already by far the most expensive in Serie A).

Alex Sandro
The lowest earners on our team would be right up there with Juve's highest earners. Serie A wages are really low compared to what we pay in England (to be honest no league pays anything near our wages). I'd bet Southampton have a bigger wage bill than Juve.

Fair enough [emoji28] I was just curious

How would that work? Ring us up and tell us they've changed their minds? Once an offer is rejected do we have to place the bid again or they can just change their stance on the same bid?
-
Alex Sandro
So your idea is to offer LESS? and that will make them not be seen as pushover?

Don't think we're going to win the CL with Alonso at LWB. this is very much what we need. Juve will have an easy replacement too if they just throw the money at Monaco and grab Mendy.

Alex Sandro
There's no need to piss about and have them reject another bid because they feel disrespected. Unless you want to spend an entire summer going after him. Finish the business early and move on to other targets.

Andrea Belotti
Not really. It was a footballing decision. Forget about those tabloid dramas.

Andrea Belotti
It has become a bit of a joke among fans about how KDB always goes on about having talked to Jose only once while at Chelsea. Jose definitely didn't want to keep him and if he said so, that's a lie.

Kylian Mbappe
In 2017, Hazard of Lille would cost £70m. Crazy market.
-
Alex Sandro
Hopefully he has indeed handed in a transfer request. We should make the same €60m bid with €2m-€5m in bonuses when he does.

Alex Sandro
Make of it what you will. I still won't hold my breath.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Even if he'd cost them £30m at the time, I'm sure they wouldn't have cared one bit if they didn't get a penny back from reselling (seeing as he retired) if it meant he'd contribute a lot to the 3 titles won in those 3 years.

Romelu Lukaku
The Premier League have made more money in the past 5 years of English teams being sh*t in Europe than any other 5 year spell in the Premier League era. I'm sure they don't care even one bit about English teams doing well in Europe. They've made that clear with their scheduling several times. I see what you're saying and I agree to some extent but it's likely never going to happen.
-
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Before Luiz to PSG, we had never gotten any decent resale value for any player in the Roman era. Not even Robben. Yet we kept signing players and were successful. I'm sure resale value is a factor considered in signing players but it's definitely not a major factor. You'll handicap yourself a lot if you sign players with that being one of the main reasons. Unless you have plans of being a feeder club.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
90% of the income from shirt sales goes to Nike/Adidas. Which is why they pay a fixed fee to the clubs yearly.
-
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
This is ridiculous. If you're an elite club, you don't sign a player because of resale value ffs. Did Bayern sign Alonso 2-3 years ago because of his great resale value? You sign players to win you trophies which translates to more revenue generated and your brand growing bigger. Resale fee is a pin drop in the ocean compared to years of success.

Alex Sandro
No reason he shouldn't be. It's not like Alonso is some superstar. Plus he'll still get 25-30 appearances per season, play in London and earn higher wages than he could earn anywhere else. Alonso will be fine.

Oh well, that bridge has sailed now. On to the next one.
