  1. Was reported to have a 25m release clause but Southampton are denying it and have apparently put a 40m price tag on him http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/southampton-want-40million-manchester-city-9450313 I tend to think 30m will get him. No reason Chelsea shouldn't be going after this lad. Very solid CB although I do worry if he's going to be the nail in the coffin for Christensen. Thoughts?
  2. That is a very interesting video. I don't think Hazard can play the role of a wing back. If we could have Cuadrado back, him and Willian would fit those roles perfectly. Maybe Hazard plays the No.10 alongside Costa? Definitely interested in seeing how Conte works it out. Then again, Conte adopted that system due to Juve's lack of players. He adapts systems according to what he has. Juve didn't have the luxury of buying players at heavy prices like we do so it'll be interesting to see how he plays it this time. Definitely happy he's not stubborn with systems.
  3. That's better for us. A bank would include crippling terms in such a loan.
  4. So where's the funding coming from? Roman directly? Or are we getting a bank loan?
  5. Didn't Costa say in his book that Jose had asked Atletico to reject Liverpool's £25m offer as we'd offer them £32m the following summer?
  6. That's going on the assumption that City are only signing him to meet up their home grown players quota. Which means they don't particularly need him as they have an abundance of much younger talent in their midfield. So, really, he would just be getting a run out with cup games and MAYBE the odd league game. The goal, from what I see, is to for City, HG quota while for Lampard, staying in good shape with world class facilities and getting some game time in a more competitive league than the Australian league(his other option, had he not gone to City). All that until the MLS season starts in January or so. I doubt he plays more than 10 games total.
  7. Apologies for dictating to you. But "help them" is implying he'd even be playing league games. You do know he could only play League Cup games, right? As I've said, they don't really need his football. They just need him to help complete their home grown quotas. And seeing as NYC FC is basically City B, it was probably part of the deal. I see nothing to be mad about. But I guess not everyone thinks the same, ehy?
  8. They need him. Not for his football but because he'd help complete their home grown quotas for the mean time. Posted my thoughts in the main Lamps thread so I don't want to post it again. But this fake rage needs to stop.
  9. You can't possibly be serious. You don't see Jose benching Torres for Lukaku? This same Torres? Ffs he benched Torres for Ba and Eto'o so not sure why you think Torres can't be pushed even further down. Add the fact that the club is looking for a buyer for Torres and it shows you just how important Jose thinks Torres is to the squad. I would bench the fecker for Bamford if it were up to me.
  10. I think it'll be great if he could end up being a part of the team in about 2 years. Would be a great prospect for England as well and we do need a decent crop of English players now that JT, Lamps and Cole are on the back end of their careers. Having him and Cahill along with one more English player, maybe a midfielder, would be great. I certainly believe he'd turn out to be a better player than the donkey Welbeck who's already got a number of caps. That said, I know I'm looking well beyond the present which isn't a certainty by any stretch. As has been said, if Derby do come up then it would be wise to let him remain with them. Regardless, I think loaning him to a PL side next season would be the best move. We have to realize though that you don't just loan players to PL sides like you're offloading to a Vitesse. They have to actually want him. Josh and Chalobah haven't been lucky in that respect. Makes letting him stay at Derby(if they do come up) and even more feasible option. I'm sure they'd love to have him for another season.
  11. Can't believe I'm rooting for Barca in a match. I feel like throwing up.
  12. I think this forum and TalkChelsea are the biggest. The official shed.chelseafc.com is the busiest, I think.
  13. I won't drop Mata for any reason. Moses would be nice though.
  14. Tbf I wouldn't trust Mata to take a penalty. He took three last season and scored only 1. Not too reliable.
  15. http://arsenal-mania.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=217732 A little overconfident there, aren't we?
  16. Suprised no one has mentioned Mutu.
  17. Immediately I started the Career Mode I sold brought in Falcao for £25M plus Torres. Even at 85 Torres is so sh*t in this game. His first touch is also REALLY poor. Also brought in Hummels for my defence. Its really difficult to score in this game. The passing however is brilliant!
  18. Go ahead....slam Mikel for not scoring but give Torres a pass every time he misses a sitter.
  19. "He'll come good, he'll score goals, he needs better service, blah blah blah..." I'm tired of him tbh. Plus the fact that despite all the support he's gotten while scoring sod all, he seems to have this whiny attitude. I couldn't have anymore of it after he stormed down the tunnel VS QPR. He's still a Chelsea player so I'll keep supporting him obviously but no special support or treatment. He deserves heavy criticism when he goes wrong(which is almost every time). Over the last 2 seasons we've criticized Mikel, Sturridge, Luiz and even Lamps & Drog but we always give him this special treatment. Quite frankly, he's hurting the team by not scoring whether you choose to realise it or not. I would say buy someone like Falcao but that would only limit the chances of Sturridge and Lukaku. A middle class(yet reliable) striker like Remy or Schurrle would do a lot better than Torres at this point. Our saving grace has been the fact that almost everyone else on the team can put the ball in the back of the net. If we want to win the league, however, we need a good striker. Robbie should start by dropping Torres and playing Sturridge once he becomes fit again.
  20. Terry gets boos too. I played the Community Shield against City and he was getting boos.
