Thirdly most football clubs have rules about intimate relationships with staff in a position of authority, I don't recall anything coming out. Although I could see why a club would not enforce said rules but you would expect it to come out if they are being sued. Nevin is a genuine and wise man and not like most of the media. If he mentioned Fabregas he worded in that manner to avoid litigation. Can't see him mentioning Fabregas unless Garry Richardson told him off the record and he wanted to get it out in the public domain. Has any other football manager taken a sabbatical, most managers are in work or out of work but he gets a bloody sabbatical. Then there are the countless books from people who may have bumped into him in the street claiming to be his BFF. Whatever is written in these books is then repeated as Gospel of what he is doing.Then there are all the teenage bloggers who have never watched a game in the flesh writing tactical analyses just reading whoscored stats who don't actually support a team they support a manager.

I can't be the only person who is fed up about hearing constant talk everywhere about Guardiola. You are clutching at straws. Cech is world class hence he does not want to get splinters playing with his helmet on the bench. It's pretty obvious it was not done to undermine but pragmatism. He had the chance to stay in London and play at a very high level, the club respected the excellent service and rightly made an exception. We also bought a very good number 2 in the summer. In fact I would say very few clubs have a better number two than us. Look at Bayern, Real Madrid etc and I doubt most have even heard of their backup keeper or have the experience of Begovic.

I thought after 10 years of exceptional service the club respected Cechs wishes to stay in London with his family. I would think Mourinho would understand that from a human perspective unless you think he is a tyrant who did not respect Cech and his wishes.

I have been critical of the board in the past for their hiring and firing and failing to front up to the cameras. Can't knock them in this instance.
