was browsing youtube for highlights of our glorious victory over the redsh*te when i found this.....

....arguably the most important game in the history of the club. I love the reaction of Ranieri and De Goey to the second goal absolute class

Thank you so much for that one. It really was an important game for us.

Beating Liverpool was great but the best part is seing Gerrard getting the red card

At first I thought - What the hell ? Our most important game ever ?! But you are right, of course - if we hadn't qualified for the CL a certain Mr. Abramovich might have never come along and we all know what has happened since...

Probably our most important game in the past decadebut I wouldn't say it was our most important game ever.

In terms of survival I would nominate two games as the most important. The win against Bolton and the next game which was a 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough. Those four points in the 82/83 season meant we didn't drop into the third tier of English football. if that had happened I personally doubt we would have ever receovered to get back into the top flight again.

Thanks to a goal by Clive Walker, who had fallen out with Neal, but thanks to Micky Droy's persuasion was in the squad.

Well no one in their right mind would argue with Micky would they?

History indeed, Stevie Me actually getting sent off for one of his patented horror tackles. Nowadays he'd get away with a ticking off.

What an awesome find. A fresh faced Lamps, Desailly with the armband. I loved the run by Gronks, and Marcel coming around to smack Gerrard on the head after he did it to LeSaux was excellent.

I never saw this one live, but I remember reading the box score in a computer lab at college as i rushed to finish something. It wasnt until I went to Ireland on holidays a month later that I saw highlights of that game.

They were talking about that during the game on saturday, if memory serves. I think Clive Walker was in the stands
