Oh dear oh dear! Robinson Crusoe was shipwrecked on a desrt island, where he met a local man, who became his servant. He called him Man Friday because he met him on a Friday.

Kids these days, eh? :P

I know, but it's quite sweet that they admit their ignorance - I used to cover mine up like mad - I would nod wisely to all sorts of things I knew f**k all about! So I like the way this generation confesses that they haven't a clue!

I do that when everyone's talking, and then when there's a lull I just admit "I have absolutely no clue what you were on about then" and smile innocently :P

I'm hoping my wonderful "act like I know what you're talking about" skills will get me into and through Uni. :P

WEll, (dubiously) it might get you into a few beds, but I doubt if it'll win you a degree! You might just have to do a wee bit of work!

Obviously, and especially considering I'm taking French, my skills will be used to their upmost maximum to get through my year abroad!!

I usually listen and if it's something I have no idea about and it's not in my best interest to reveal I know nothing about it, I make a mental note to myself to check up on it(library, internet, etc.) later. There are some things of which I'm quite happy to admit that I know about and in these cases I'll just say it. If someone is willing to tell me about some subject that I don't know about, I'm willing to listen.

What a very well-balanced attitude! I have however on occasions regretted asking someone to explain something to me - when three-quarters of an hour later he's still droning on and I'm politely stifling my yawns.
