Taking everything into account, if we get the ban lifted who would you like to see at The Bridge in January?

Definatly villa. Drogba and Villa up front would be an amazing partnership i think

The kind of money being talked about with Villa concerns me, for someone who is almost 28 years old. Therefore I'd take Pato or Aguero....if pushed for which one, I think it'd be Aguero.

I vote for Aguero.

I would rather we stick with Drogba and Anelka and look to give Sturridge and Di Santo more of an opportunity.

however if we are to buy a striker I see no point in buying one who is in the late 20s bracket. We should be looking for someone who will be the long term future rather than a player who is only a couple of years behind out current first choice striker.

So that, for me, counts out Villa despite the fact I do think he is a quality striker.

I don't think there is much to choose between Pato and Aguero and either would do.

I voted for both Aguero and Pato. They are two players our squad could do with, but not now, rather in 2-3 years. Drogba and Anelka are currently in their prime and we should best utilize them while they are.

To be honest, we should not look for players who would directly replace one of our nailed on starters. Yes, I am saying this keeping the ban in mind. We must keep our faith in the likes of Sturridge, Di Santo and Borini and of course Kalou, while at the same time making sure that we don't fall too short of options during ACN or in case of injuries. All our signings should be done keeping this in mind.

Pato def one for the future and having worked with Carlo before , he'd have a fair idea on how to get the best out of him. Right now though our attacking partnership is more than adequate with Anelka poss playing some of the best football of his life...why rock the boat? Other than buy with the future in mind.

Kun is the most magnificent forward of Argentina. I would love him to play in Chelsea one day. Villa is the best striker in the world but the price is too much because of his age. Pato I am not so impressed of him, but I am Argentine and maybe a little biased. :o

Aguero to Chelsea please!

I like Villa as a player, but he'll cost a pretty penny and will be 28 this year already. It's a well known fact that he could have moved in the summer, but he tried his hardest to stay in Spain. He doesn't rate us above others and even if he'll have to leave the country, Chelsea may not be his preferred destination. Plus, we already have two experienced world class strikers, both well settled, proved in the PL and on top of their game. Sending either of them to the bench to provide a spot in the lineup for Villa makes little sense. So in short, he isn't too excited about the prospect of joining us, is of wrong age considering the money involved (which equals little resale value), and may need time to settle, so all factors considered, I'd pass.

Pato is someone Ancelotti knows and has trained personally and our interest in him is well recorded. Arnesen was going after him long before he moved to Italy, but in the end he chose Milan. I haven't seen much of Pato but he's very highly rated and by all accounts is going to only get better. Would I take him? Absolutely.

But I don't see Milan parting with him, unless we blow them away with Kaka - like offer.

Aguero is the most realistic target, imo. Atletico are in a deep s..t financially and are doing poorly on the pitch. The club president himself recently admitted that they would for the first time seriously consider selling the Argentinean if the right offer comes along in January. I have been a long time admirer of Kun so for me it's a no brainer, open the wallet and reel him in.

Checked out the pics of our Monday training at Vicente Calderon stadium and noticed both Arnesen and Gourlay present. Now I may be reading too much into it but who knows, they may use this opportunity to test waters about our possible move for the young Sergio.

I would take Pato over the Aguero and Villa as for me he has something about him. Don't know what it is but i feel he would be quality in the prem.

I'd take any of them but i dont think we need them, like i said in a previous post January is simply the wrong time too buy and it's a shame because we have enough depth in strength as it is.

Also don't expect Valencia to get a massive fee for Villa, they lost the chance to sell him big in the summer. Man Utd or us would not bid over 35 in my opinion.

Agreed on all points there Lozzer,

but I do think our hand may be forced into a signing of this stature in the January transfer window. I don't think we can take a gamble that our ban will be appealed for the summer of next year.

So, as mch as I'd love to see Sturridge, Di Santo, and even Borini used more in the next year or so, I think the club will act to try and land either Pato or Aguero. Again, either of them would be truly amazing

Of couurse this is the main point, but if we are to suspend reality and simply answer the Poll's question, then I don't think it's too bad to dream
