February 2, 20251 yr This is a song from Dick Gaughan, a wonderful Scottish folk singer. I used to go to a lot of his gigs. Alas he has now retired, but the last time I saw him I was chatting to him at the interval, and asked him if he would sing this song in the second half. He was a lot taller than me, but he bent down, put his head on my shoulder and whispered, "I'm awfy sorry, lassie, I cannae remember the words!" I must to bed now!
February 5, 20251 yr What a great guitar player! Johnny Marr and Big Bill Broonzy both come into that category!! Edited February 5, 20251 yr by erskblue
February 7, 20251 yr Central Asian dance music anyone ? This track has been used in the latest railway TV ad that is doing the rounds ... quite catchy ! The Mrs hates it LOL. Naturally I turned it up all the way to 11 🙂 Edited February 7, 20251 yr by Sexyfootball
February 9, 20251 yr This is Allan Taylor, my favourite folk singer. He is a superb guitarist; I have been going to his gigs for 40 years.
February 9, 20251 yr and here are Allan with my school friend Rab who sadly died a couple of years ago
February 10, 20251 yr As much as I lover the version by Jefferson Airplane I prefer the original by The Great Society.
February 12, 20251 yr First cinema trip of 2025 this evening to see Becoming Led Zeppelin, which I can highly recommend ! Really well edited, with the only dialogue throughout being interviews with the band members. Tomorrow will be dawn-to-dusk Led Zeppelin I think 🙂 Here is an Eddie Cochrane cover from their 1970 Royal Albert Hall gig that I hadn't heard before, and which was included in the film :
