I think he is. Not being bias, but he has scored many many goals and some peaches along the way. He has a decent record for a striker ahead of many great players in football just now (like Rooney or Torres) but I think during his earlier years he could/should have possibly done better. I think that could have changed if he was with us since the start of his senior career though. I hope Drogba picks up some trophies because he truely is a talent. He is not just good at finishing but a good playmaker and he is good at set pieces which not many strikers are. He is now 31, but I think he has a good 5 years left in him, what do you think? Drogba should be recognised as one of the best strikers in the world, and if not the best.

He's recognised as being one of the best strikers in the world, but it's always followed by "on his day." That's what annoys me, everyone always always always goes back to his dives etc. it's just not fair. He IS the best striker in the world, no doubt about it.

I don't think he's under-rated, I just think the press love to hate on him, and won't acknowledge what he achieves as that is often over-shadowed by the "histrionics" or "on his day" statement as RBJ mentioned

I agree that conversations always revert back to his "diving", it is really starting to get to me, especially because IMO he is much better about it this season than some previous years. As for his striking ability, easily one of the best in the world, no questions asked.

We never got the full package when we played him as a lone striker. Credit go to Hiddink and Carlo to get more out of him.

Remember Scolari saying there was no way Drogba and Anelka could play together?

Under rated no, but i think the majority of opposition fans will never admit he's the best centre forward in the world, same goes for certain journalists. As for diving , i dont consider him a diver in the Gerrard mould , its more a case of he goes down too easy for such a big man and he tries too hard to get decisions his way .

That man is only allowed to watch Chelsea in his lounge now ::ChELSeAFaN:: Last time Drogba scored 30 goals a year was when Sheva was around, and they didn't have much of an understanding when playing together. Playing another striker to drag a central defender away from Drogba, less long balls, and more short passing and byline cross, we have seen the real Drogba.

True, but I don't think many of us here would "rate" Torres or Ronaldo ahead of Drogba. I believe he is one of the best players in the world. What I do agree on is that "on his day"- when he dominates a game- there is no other player in the world is as good. He is equal parts awesome, scary and inspirational and even Messi or Ronaldo on their best days don't quite inspire the same emotions and i've found that many other fans agree.

Yes I think he is underrated. Alot of people I know slag him off due to them generally disliking Chelsea. He is no doubt one of the best strikers in the world.

He deserves all the stick from his antics when he falls over, rolls around and after 15 secs is back on his feet like nothing happened. You hate it, I hate it, everybody hates it. Everything else on the pitch he is doing is just pure brilliance at the moment. He is unstoppable and easily the best striker in the world at the moment, no one is even close IMO. I'm sure everyone agrees with that as well. We are very fortunate to have him.

..I don't actually think he is underrated. If he continues this way through the season he will win best player in the prem award and is very close in winning ballon d'or, not kidding here.
