Thoght that there are few teams as "dear" as these two when it comes to rivals. So thought the match itself is worthy of its own thread.

I'd love to see Leeds win, God that's horrible to say! But the reason I want them to win is because I want us to get them in the next round, and I want to laugh at Tottenham!!1

Thoughts?

I'm with you on wanting the dirty boys to win this one but more because my stepson and his Dad are Leeds fans and I would like to see them beat Spuds for the boys sake then ideally let him and his Dad witness us put them out in the next round.

I think this one could end even and hopefully Leeds take them back to Elland Rd and finish the Job.

I want us to spank Leeds, it's been a while since we've had the chance.

Even more, piling up more misery on Tottenham is never a bad thing.

Ideally, Dirty Leeds will win it on penalties in the replay, with plenty of red cards and a few non-career-threatening injuries from both sides.

I actually cheered as Beckford put it in. Off to wash myself with bleach. ::clap2::

A chance still for us to draw them and Spuds get to play an extra game.

I cheered too and I felt pretty wrong after the fact ::clap2:: But that has got to be a gutting result for Spuds after they dominated that game, so thats pretty excellent. The replay will be something else, but if they matched Spuds' first team in London, I wouldnt bet against them in Yorkshire

Beckford is some story. Virtually unknown a few weeks ago to being the man whose goals could potentially knock out two premiership sides.

Beckford is a lazy git and has received far too much press considering what he actually put in yesterday. He was completely anonymous in the first half and didn't work nearly as hard as the rest of his teammates in getting Leeds back into the game. It's the sad media complex of giving all the credit to the goalscorer rather than actually giving the game any kind of real analysis.

While I agree he doesn't do much, there is no denying he is a natural goalscorer. I'd go as far as to say that it's not his game to work hard, his game is to score. Whether that's a good or bad thing is another question, but I think plenty of credit has been given to his teammates and all I've heard was people praising the whole team, not just Beckford. That being said, it's hard not to give praise to somebody who scored both goals and won his team a penalty single-handedly.

I also wouldn't say he was anonymous in the first half, he had two great scoring opportunities, he put one wide with a decent strike and Gomes made a good save on the other one.

The way the big teams are dropping out. I wouldn't mind a Chelsea Leeds final. Also it would be a fitting as it would be the 40th Anniversary of our first FA Cup win.

Now THAT would be something to look forward to.

You're right, but I remember the majority of the first half where Leeds were getting pounded and Beckford didn't lift a finger defensively.

That is the beauty of being a good striker, isnt it PK? I didnt see the Manc game, only saw half of this game, but when I did see it, he put away both those chances when he got them. And everything else is forgotten.

I do remember early on when Leeds were really under pressure, though, and Spurs looked as if they were going to walk it, especially after getting that penalty
