Rooney backs Terry

Featured Replies

Don't like him when he plays against us but as an English man I hope he stays fit and does well for us in the world cup.

I think about this time last year we all agreed that Ronaldo was a tosser but amazing player....

Well Rooney this season as gone up in my estimations as a player and a person, amazing form, easy the best player in Europe this season in my opinion.

Still hope we beat the bar stewards to the league !

I'd have to agree with that. He is maturing both as a player and a person. The added responsibility of leading the line for Utd has brought out something extra in him.

Really refreshing to read and makes a nice break from the current sort of stuff we are having to read. Good on you Wayne Rooney.

Not that it will make any difference mind. It will be another panto on Wednesday, it will be like JT has left the Celebrity Big Brother house or something.

Couldn't really care how he plays against Egypt , its Sunday that matters to me. Lets hope the next round of the circus doesn't affect him like the previous ones seem to have.

Still, he's got to deal with it, he's brought it all on himself.

Hate the U, I thought they would surely drop off after saying goodbye to CR and CT, but that English bulldog has kept them in it. Any fan has to be impressed...

bjd, I can't understand why you would call this thread a refreshing break from the circus, and then pay the barker.

I don't understand what you mean by that i'm afraid

Agreed. But followed by:

"he's brought it all on himself"

Don't mean to be a dick, but I think you betrayed the excellent opinion you started with...

What a player he is now, really come on this year. Having said that he was actually really good in the last two years, but everyone was more concerned with Ronaldo as he got more goals, but Rooney's hard work and effort created a lot of them.

yes I understood that (and fair enough) it's just I never heard the term 'playing the barker' before!!!!!

Think of the Sun newspaper as the barker, JT is the attraction, and the paying customer feeding the process.

It's as clear as the Simonon on your arm...

I'd actually take Rooney into our team ahead of Pato or Villa, or anyone else. Shame it's never going to happen, he's devepoed into a great player

Never been a great fan of Rooney but he has to be applauded for his attitude here... If he could learn to control that dodgy temperament of his he might have a shout for the England captaincy one day.. whatever else I might think of him he has all the passion and desire to win that's needed to lead the side..
