Buying success

Featured Replies

Benitez has spent £230,476,000 on 77 players in six years, while recouping 151 million, and hasn't produced a team that can win the league, if I was their chairman/owner my boot would be six inches up his arse at the present moment.

I don't think they'll write that in their f**king history

conversely, if we win the league this season, it's through not having spent much on new players since jan 2008...no-one could accuse of us buying it this time

You know they will mate, the day we get some genuine praise, not tainted with with some monetary slur, is unlikely to be seen in the near future.

If we fail to win, it's because of our aging squad, but if we win, it's because of our endless resources. Go figure...

That argument was ridiculous to begin with, but if someone tries to pull that out, after we have spent less than Spurs, Man Utd, Liverpool and probably Arsenal in recent years, whoever says that needs to go watch their "Best of Emlyn Hughes" DVD and shut the f**k up because its just embarrassing now.

Oh and why on earth Juventus want Benitez, when they are on the verge of finishing in 7th is anyone's guess.

Hopefully his impending move breaks down and he sits on the Dipper sideline for another miserable season pissed up the wall

AND 59 of them were burgled while playing away in Europe ;)

I've seen it being used already this season. I can't remember the exact article, but it was about the title race and injuries and how injuries don't really affect our chances because of our endless resources. If only I could remember who was the village idiot that wrote it. I think it was around the time when Rooney got injured.

Does that include the scene where he gets mowed down by a Massey Ferguson (or was that just a scene in a book that Bluebeard and I are writing?)

Just from the top of my head Bayern certainly purchased the following:

Robben - Real Madrid

Ribery - Marseiile

Olic - Another Budesliga team (possibly Hamburg??)

I think the three combined cost about $40 million, with Robbens fee being half of it.

Yea, but still...40 million for 11 players is not too shabby.
