The chest beating is at a very low ebb this year. The fact that they didnt even get 70% of people on their own website to vote for Liverpool says it all. Frankly, its a little worrying, because I would rather have them all talking up their chances only to fall flat on their faces.

But Im sure after England-Hungary today they are going to be flying high again.

is it only me who feels a little bit dirty knowing someone who has access to Liverpool TV?

Shame on you Dicky!

It'd be interesting to see a similar poll on here, would people put their blue-tinted spec's to one side?

If I was a betting Man I'd back Man U this season, based purely on their attacking options, their previous track record under Fergie, and the players we've let go.

Joe Cole will not win Liverpool the league on his own!

I'm not a betting man, but, if I was, my money would be on us or L'Arse, with maybe a saver on Citeh (but i don't really think they are in with a chance)

mancs just don't look any more impressive than last year, and I feel it in my piss that the little pee will turn out to be another Robinho - good in the sun at home.

How dare you, how very dare you. Ill have you know I stole it off another forum, which is quite apt considering it involves the dippers.

I certainly don't see us winning the league this season, we've let a few players leave, quite correctly, and haven't replaced them - yet. I realise that we may make some signings, in which case my view will probably change - depending on who we get. The signing of Benayoun didn't exactly fill me with confidence, in fact it made me quite ill.

Though it hurts to admit it, I feel that Manure and/or Arse could finish above us this year, with Citeh and the y*ds not far behind. I pray to Ossie that I'm wrong!

I feel the same, at least we have the open mindness to admit it, unlike those deluded Liverpool fans.

A new manager and Joe Cole aint gonna improve them that much.

i wouldn't be surprised if you'd get contradictory results for "who do you think will win the title?" and "where will we finish this season?"

reason being that for the first one it's natural not to want to vote against your own team, but the second you're making a prediction of your own team's performance in the coming season, which might just make it that little bit easier to be honest and objective.

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel reckons the Reds can finally end their 21-year wait for the league title this season.

The Anfield outfit are outsiders for the Premier League crown following last season's dismal seventh place finish and a summer of upheaval on Merseyside.

Long-serving manager Rafa Benitez has been replaced by Roy Hodgson, while owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are looking to sell the club.

But Skrtel still feels the Reds can edge back ahead of bitter rivals Manchester United and claim a record 19th English crown.

"We made some good changes and I really believe that this can be our year," he told his personal website.

Unlucky

The Reds looked on course to start the season with a victory against Arsenal, but a late blunder from goalkeeper Pepe Reina allowed the Gunners to snatch a 1-1 draw.

David Ngog had fired the Anfield outfit in front despite Liverpool being down to 10 men following Joe Cole's red card moments before the break.

Skrtel added: "It is an unlucky result. The fact that Joe Cole was sent off did harm us and it is very difficult to play against Arsenal when you have one man down.

"We wanted to stay calm in defence and try to score which we did. Unfortunately we didn't do enough to hold on to our lead.

"On the other hand, we have shown our strong will and character which is a good sign."

nice to see their own players are willing to back them, skrtel looks like the sort of man who knows his stuff aswell :laugh2: Thick IDIOT

Now Mascherano has gone on strike for a move to Barca. Rumored bid is 12 million and Hleb. Surely they will get more than that, but losing Mascherano means that Poulsen or Lucas will have to play in midfield every week. And that is a beautiful thing.

Seeing Mascherano jump ship with a week left in the transfer window, I wonder what Torres is thinking. "First chance, f**k off to City or Barca"
