Chelsea are monitoring contract talks between Roma and their centre back Philippe Mexes.

The France defender' date=' 28, is free to talk to foreign clubs from January 1 because his deal runs out next summer and a new one has yet to be agreed.

Mexes has captained France recently and is one of the candidates to keep the armband permanently under Laurent Blanc.

I think it is not true... OK, he will be a free player since 1 January, but I think we don't need a next CB... There is a young Bruma in our squad, and don't forget about Mancienne... But, he enjoy playing for Wolves so who knows?? Maybe he's going to stay there?

Well if we need a backup for our defenders really badly and we don't want to pay much for one then Mexes could be a good deal. He's not bad, but he's not good either.

I think that Bruma is going to be a better player than Mexes...

Mexes would be a very decent acquisition via free transfer, but he's a bit of a c**t...

Good player but just don't like him but if he's gonna be on a free I say go for it.
