Aside from the McCreadie tackle in the Leeds replay how often was that kit (the usual blue shirts and shorts but with yellow trim instead of white) worn or was that an FA Cup special kit?

In the Derby clip it's the usual kit but with yellow socks (or stockings as they called them, always made me laugh  )

Good question. I mean Leeds had red socks in original game and we'd our white socks on !

Foundthis piece re overcrowding at The Bridge. ' A crash barrier buckled'. That was one of the major causes of Jan 2nd 1971 Ibrox Disaster when 66 supporters were killed.

I remember that, Leeds at home first game of the 72/73 season, I think. The East Stand had just been demolished, yet they still let 50,000 people in, on just three sides of the pitch - disaster waiting to happen, luckily it didn't.

I still remember watching the 1971 news reports from Ibrox, a terrible day, but it was bound to happen somewhere sometime.

There was lip service paid back then to Crowd Safety by football clubs/authorities.. Chelsea reacted quickly to this crushing/accident and in restrospect all credit to them for doing so.

Charlie is No 5 on bench for Los Angeles Aztecs in this 1977 photo. George Best is the no 11 holding ball (obviously )

Charlie Cooke and George Best in the same team, what I would have paid to see that!

Ibrox for you mate

Thanks mate much appreciated.

The 'block in middle' is the changing rooms/administartive offices of new Main Stand about to be built.

The old pavillion at top of old stand/on terraces has just been demolished.

I think Ibrox back then and Stamford Bridge were very similar. Both were of course Archibald Leitch Stadiums.
