August 21, 20196 yr Not a great season, but my first season supporting The Blues ! A 3-3 draw. We were 3-0 up and threw it away. 23,745 saw it. Our scorers were: Peter Houseman 5th, Bill Garner 20th and my first Chelsea hero Charlie Cooke in the 45th min, saw us 3-0 up at half time and seeming cruising to victory... This should have been a lesson to me in what following Chelsea would be about !! Incidentally, this was the late Peter Houseman's last goal for us. Edited August 21, 20196 yr by erskblue

That's the game l'm sure when Robbie does that iconic celebration where he lays down puts one arm in the air and some of the others, wisey, lebeouf etc join him in pose. Tried that at football training the following week when playing six a side, didn't quite get the same reaction from my team mates. Edited August 21, 20196 yr by chi blue

Just for comparison sake. And they all look very well dressed. As do the vast majority of Chelsea supporters ! Back in the early seventies my Dad would send me up to the newsagent to buy his cigarettes. A parent couldn't ask a child to do that now. A packet of 20 cigarettes was 25p. I think a packet of cigarettes is now about £10. And as for Saturday morning pictures in 1970 it cost a shilling (5p) to get in as a kid.

Yeah I remember going to the local ice cram van in the mid - late 1970s to get cigarettes for my Uncle. '20 Senior Service' was the brand of cigarettes he smoked Funny how you remember things like that, well I do anyway ! This same Uncle of mine had a heart attack in his late 50s and he instantly gave up smoking and has never smoked a single cigarette since. He's in his mid 80s now.
August 21, 20196 yr https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/gallery/2015/feb/17/football-ticket-prices-old-ticket-stubs Various ticket prices through the years. Various games. I had a Glasgow Rangers Season Ticket for 1988/89 , Copland Road Stand and it cost me £100. This got me admission to all Rangers domestic home games, but not the two UEFA Cup home ties. I paid £4 for a standing terracing ticket for that season's Scottish Cup Final v Celtic. The Mount Florida (traditional Rangers) en) of Hampden.
