Fantastic pictures, that's about the view I had of the goal too. For those unaware that stand opposite full of Chelsea celebrating was supposed to be for QPR.

I remember a 1-0 defeat at Loftus Road 1990ish. Wegerle scored a 1st minute penalty for them and Dixon blazed one over the bar for us.

It was pay on the day and we filled one end, one side and 2/3 of the other side of the ground.

I think that percentage of support was par for all our matches there until they introduced all ticket. My favourite was the one posted as a newspaper cutting in an earlier post where at the final whistle those (less than 100) Chelsea fans which had been sat in front of the school end hoarding due to overcrowding ran onto the pitch and Rangers started clearing down the central exit. Others piled on from all sides of the ground and the Loft was ours. That's my only recollection of an end being taken by coming across the pitch although I believe it once happened at Bolton too. Any others?

My memory of our turn outs at QPR,

my 1st time there, lost 6.0 terrace quite packed but not rammed, seats?

86/87 drew 1.1 sat up in the seats, again quite packed but not rammed, terrace?

87/88 lost 3.1 on terraces rammed with CFC in both side paddocks, seats rammed i think?

89/90 lost 4.2 terrace rammed seats rammed, CFC dotted about?

90/91 lost 1.0 on side paddock terrace rammed, seats?

91/92 again on side paddock, terrace rammed seats? CFC in Ellersie rd.

92/93 drew 1.1 on side paddock next to Loft terrace quite full not rammed, seats not full?

Not sure i went 93/94?

Didnt go 94/95(i think dont remember it)will check my ticket stubs but cant remember going.

Fa cup 95/96 sat in Ellersie rd next to loft, CFC ends packed with CFC in big numbers in E,rd/S A rd.

I can't remember the actual year but the year after promotion (1977?) we took the Loft, I can't remember the next year but probably did again, unlikely we didn't. Then they started doing the ground up and built the School End first which became their home end for a while, we took that too next time I went. Then there were the plastic pitch matches including the League Cup where we filled three sides of the ground. At the League Cup I was in the South Africa Road paddock right next to the Loft which was packed with Chelsea, the pitch invasion game was the 3-1 defeat and I was in the Ellerslie Road Stand again right next to the Loft with a good view of the scattering of the mouthy ones. Where's Bluebeard, I'm sure he can go back a bit further than me to the mid 70's?

Cambridge, they were plucky! I went there a couple of times in the late 70's and thought we'd run them ragged but they gave as good as they got.

I first went there in 72/3, think it was their first ever season in the top flight, whole place packed with Chelsea, same in 73/4 twice, 74-5 then we didn't play them again till 77/8 and I went there for every game up until the boxing day game in 84 I think, until the introduction of away allocations we filled the place up every time we played there.

CB was the 81 game a midweek League cup match? I'm in that picture if it was, not one of those sliding on me arse through the mud that made up the terrace under that roof. Lost 4-2 as well, happy days.

I guess that the sunny Wigan picture is from the 5-0 win in an FA Cup replay in 1985. I was there for that one but I can't recall it being that sunny. Still got the programme around somewhere.

Wigan's ground really was crap back then wasn't it? mind you I think they were in the 4th Division at the time which makes our 4-2 defeat even more embarassing. I'm pretty sure they beat us in 1-0 at the bridge in another cup shock in the early 80's.

The infamous Tommy Gore

We made a habit of losing to lower league teams in the League Cup back in those days (Sc**thorpe, Scarborough, Tranmere, York)
