I was playing with my settings, trying to add a signature. I was blocked with this:

I guess I better get typing if I need over 4 billion posts!

I might be wrong, but I think a signature is something written (or maybe a picture) that always is attached to your post. Like if I had one then it would be shown below what I've written here.

I love the fact that this forum doesn't allow people to have signature pictures. I've seen some good signature pictures on other sites(majority of them are quite ugly, though), but it's annoying to scroll through a thread when most of the time the signature is bigger than the actual post. Especially when there are those who feel the need to have several signature pictures.

A sig is the same as an avatar, more or less.

I agree. Even though some signatures are really nice/funny, they can still be quite annoying. It's better not to have them. It's a bit "cleaner".

Yes they just clutter up the page and as a result there's less to read on a page. I think Mod said in some thread that there's gonna be a "like/thumbs up" feature implemented and I think it should help the threads become even cleaner as people don't have to post one word or one emoticon posts if they like some post or think something is funny. Not all one word or one emoticon posts are pointless/worthless, mind you, but quite often they just clutter up the thread.

Sigs just ruin threads, a quick scan of a thread can take bloody ages if people have massive sigs with pictures and lines of text. Glad we dont have them on here.
