July 7, 201113 yr Author It's been confirmed that there are people trapped under the rubble. Early pictures:
July 7, 201113 yr Author Yeah, this all looks very gruesome. Authorities have confirmed at least one death and thirteen injuries. Allegedly a support beam was hit by a crane which caused the whole structure to collapse. To get some idea of the injuries: (If the mods feel this picture to be inappropriate I would understand completely if they were to remove it.)
July 7, 201113 yr The way the roof seem to have landed probably prevented more deaths. Could have been a lot worse.
July 7, 201113 yr Authorities have confirmed at least one death and thirteen injuries. Apparently, two are critically injured. I work for a large infrastructure project myself, and I have seen how awful these accidents can be. People just come to work, and all of a sudden everything changes.
July 7, 201113 yr Awful news. Tragic for the person who lost their life. Hope the others are on the mend.
July 7, 201113 yr Yeah, this all looks very gruesome. Authorities have confirmed at least one death and thirteen injuries. Not nice at all, more tragic for the victims and for their family.
July 9, 201113 yr One of the critically injured builders died of his injuries yesterday. He was 24 years old. The first victim was 31. There are now 6 people still in hospital, but their condition is reported as stable. The investigation now focuses on the sturdiness of the new roof. Experts say that no support beams had been put into place (yet), necessary to stabilise the construction. Despite that, the score board had been put into place, its weight proving too much for the insufficiently propped up roof. But so far it's all speculation. Edited July 9, 201113 yr by Valerie
