Would he accept a backup role happily? He no doubt isn't happy as a winger at Newcastle, and who knows where his head is at with Pappis stealing his thunder. Might be a decent target man as a sub.

Isn't he a CF? He had a golden touch last season and is a good player but just don't see him fit in our squad. I strongly believe we are building our attack around Nando. Where does it leave Ba? Sturridge and Lukaku?

He just turned 27 5days ago, so just about in his prime. But i think there are better target men out there. Plus he wouldn't accept being 4th or maybe 5th choice. Torres/Hulk?/Sturridge/Lukaku/Demba.. I would prefer Feruz to be fifth choice.

I doubt he'd be 5th choice.

Lukaku is going on loan next season people. So Ba would be second or 3rd choice. And if Torres doesnt find form then by all means he could be first choice.

I've watched a lot of Newcastle, and i actually dont rate him that much.

He's good, but no. We don't need another striker.

At the price being quoted i say sign him up. I would rather the other guy at newcastle though.

Demba Ba is a quality player that has proven some worth in the EPL but I believe from watching a fair amount of Newcastle games from last season that he operates best as a lone striker.

I don't think this would be the best purchase because he would be nothing more than a quality backup to Torres and Sturridge.

I think Hulk would be best used by us as a wide striker drawing defenses out wide because he has that monster left foot so Ba doesn't really go hand in hand with him.

I like him though and would be happier if he went to another team where he could enjoy his career as their main target man.

Even as a backup, I wouldn't want Ba.

Major problems with his knees.

He fractured his tibia and fibula while playing in Belgium and he's never completely recovered from it. He's already failed two medicals that have aborted potential transfer, first to Stuttgart and then to Stoke. He's talented enough, but I just don't think he's worth the risk.

If Hazard eventually signs for us I'd keep Lukaku in the squad as long as possible. If those two don't click then loan him out after the pre-season or even January. We should look that card as we can. Lukaku is very openly a Chelsea fan so that should give him the extra 10%.

I think it would be a good signing. Lukaku is going on loan and we need a 3rd striker. Ba showed that when he was the main centre forward he could score goals. I don't know if he'd be happy as 3rd striker but then if he truly believes in his talent he would probably think he can get in the first team. The only worry I'd have about him is injuries. He's had chronic knee problems in the past.

I'd be equally happy with Yakubu or Rodallega to be fair. But we do definitely need a 3rd striker IMO.

Rodallega?? Are you serious.. He scored 2 goals last season, and i can only remember one, Beauty of a free kick at Loftus Road, must be said. But other than that, BIG NO. Way off having the quality to even warm a Chelsea bench.

Sturridge and Torres will be challenging for the main strikers role and Hulk (If he signs) will also compete if one of those 2 is injured or suspended. Roman has all but set it in stone that Fernando will be given the role next year so I can't see any striker willing to play 3rd or 4th fiddle to those players.

Ba is too good to sit on a subs bench imo so it would be a waste.

If we are bringing in anymore players (assuming Hulk and Hazard do sign) then a RB and maybe a midfielder should be the next target but the attacking areas seem pretty well equiped for next season.

If there is someone I'd like to see from Newcastle in our shirt that would be either Papiss or Cabaye but we have no place for either - 3 strikers if we include Sturridge and 6 midfielders for 2 positions. All world class with exceptional talents as back-up. Demba Ba is not necessary when both Lukaku and Sturridge are screaming for playing time as a ST.

He would be a 3rd striker. He'd rarely, if ever, play. he was injured for the vast majority of last season. Its a harmless signing. He's out of contract, wages wouldn't cost much and he rates himself.

I think you have anger issues. If you get annoyed at peoples opinions that arent the same as your own then maybe internet forums arent for you.

In case of injuries. Its very likely that at some stage Torres and/or Sturridge will be out of action.
