Is there any legal reason why abramovich would be unable to buy a 2nd team and then turn them into a sort of B team? I think our youth development would be great if we were able to work in the European fashion of bringing players through!

Doesnt he own a coupla european clubs that we feed and use in this way.....At our place our already fantastic B side is capable of FA and LEAGUE cup wins

I mean an English B team...with the collapse of Darlington and now Portsmouth are 10 points behind in league 1, there would surely be benefit to more than just our own team

Don't think it Is legal to be honest I remember there was a few questions raised after his oil company sponsored cska. I think we would able to register a team in the football league and hope they gain a few promotions like how it works in Spain.

Worst idea I have come across tbh! Would not be right because then most premier league teams will start doing it and it gives football league clubs no chance of making it to the premier league.

No because the B teams would never be able to get promotion! And unless someone can provide a better solution to giving all our youth more competitive matches and manage their development ala Josh mceachran then I don't see how it can be knocked? You only have to take a look at Spain's national team to see the benefits of such a system

Spain and Portugal have been doing it since forever though, it's far too late for something like this to work (and for teams to benefit from it) in England now. The moment has come and gone.

Yes, but then you can also look at their joke of a league. This may make England more of a force at every major tournament but I would much rather see teams coming up from the Championship capable of top quality football than England winning the Euros. The premier league is the best league in the world because it is the most competitive, teams come up from the lower divisions and cause major upsets! Almost every team throughout the divisions have an army of fans who turn out in force every week to see high paced, unpredictable, competitive football. I would have that every day of the week over two teams battling for the title each year whilst everyone else pussy-foots about for 3rd.

Why would that change with a B team system? If anything it would better prepare the teams that got promoted for life in the EPL by playing top players in the B team.

Can't really blame the B/C team system on that, Bacra and Madrid have been dominating Spain for years even before their B teams became good (Which really wasn't that long ago).

I could not think of anything better than seeing our national team lift a trophy tbh

Maybe not so much the standard coming up, but surely that is a bit insulting to the teams that are playing them. My understanding is that the 'B' team is full of youngsters (forgive me if im wrong), if so, why would you pay to watch your team play, and possibly lose to, a team of U21's?

Well I don't really pay much attention to international football. If we win then im not going to moan about it, but if we lose then im not bothered either.

Club over country Every day of the week for me. Leave the football leagues how they are. Give me a premier league title or champions league etc over a world cup anyday.
