Wednesday at 1pm Chelsea youth kick off there uefa league competition against Basel, live on chelsea TV. I thought it worthy of a thread for this comp, should be really good to see our boys against the best Europe has to offer. The fixtures mimic the senior teams games so each cl match day sees the youth play there equivalent in the afternoon.

Well done for starting a thread on this dkw. However, I must confess I'm getting more and more confused re youth level so can someone clarify I few things as I don't have time to look up!

 

We used to have the youth team (U 18's) and the reserves which has now become the u 21's. It's the youth team who have done so well in recent seasons in the FA youth cup and last year they had that other european tournament too. I'm sure I heard that this UEFA Youth Leage was for U '19's - yet another age category. Is that right and if so I wonder who will feature as I've lost track of which players are what age and in which team?!!

I think Boga and Brown are both still only 16 so I wonder if you have to be a certain age to be legible?

if you're 16 or under do you have to be registered? Could be something like that

had the day off due to ahhem car trouble aka gta5! had the match on the laptop and it was a comfortable performance, however I do think these games should be played at night in a stadium as it felt more like a friendly, than the first youth champions league match.
