Son of a bitch...this game...seriously.

I have a wonderful start to the season...7 straight wins, the final one of which was an unexpected 6-0 demolition of United.

Then my next two games saw me go to Ipswich and 3 bloody times throw away the lead to draw 3-3. They had 3 shots in total. The next game, I'm away to Southampton...throw away a 2-0 half time lead to draw 2-2. They had 4 shots on goal to my 29, and only had 2 on target, scored them both.

Was tearing the hair out of my head.

Over confidence perhaps?

I don't know, but it was more frustrating than many of the losses I've had in the game.

Fair enough when you get one of those games, but 2 in a row, which costs you the lead in the league made me angry haha

Fortunately in the league games since, the team has grown some backbone again, and is back to winning ways. Unfortunately, Arsenal just keep winning too. We are both unbeaten, but they have one less draw.

Thats when its time to use your back up tactic. Use it for one or two games then switch back to your original. Ive just finally completed my first full season * admittedly after a few restarts * I managed to win the league with four games to go, win the fa cup and lose in the champions league semi. The sad thing is after all that Roman offered me a four year contract on 25 grand a week less than my starting money and only 850.000 transfer kitty. Real Madrid do you need a manager?

Currently 5th in the Skrill Premier. 4 points behind 1st place Bristol Rovers.

Just got through a terrible run of games. Couldn't buy a goal for 3 games. Still in the FA Trophy in January so hoping to go all the way to get some desperately needed prize money.

Changed my Target Man to Deep Lying Forward. Been an absolute monster since. 25 goals / 6 assists for him so far.

My run has come to an end...such a shame.

As it stands, 24 games, 20 wins, 3 draws...1 loss...

After the hiccups against Ipswich and Southampton, I just kept winning...which was very lucky, because Arsenal just keep winning too. Then comes a problem period. Tottenham away (I thumped them 3-0), United away (I was on the cusp of losing before a last minute equaliser 1-1), Liverpool at home (got away with a 1-0 win). Sadly that game came at a cost. Both Nastasic and Zouma picked up knocks. My 3rd CB, was already injured, so I went into the next game...Arsenal away, with my 4th and 5th CB's. Not good. Lost the match 1-0, and my run was ended. Sadly, I'm now also behind Arsenal by 2 points, but if I win my game in hand, I go top again.

It's frustrating, I've had a near perfect season, yet Arsenal not only remain in touch but ahead of me...

I've noticed my player chats are much more effective now...

I'm assuming it's because after starting with an automatic reputation, the amount I've won means players are less petulant.

Started a FM13 season with Chelsea and gave up after about 5 games. I'm sh*t at manaing Chelsea, I just always lose.

Gone back to my lower division season, trying to get promoted to the conference.

I had a perfect season ruined...After winning CL last year, the fixture pile up is what got me in the end. This is my season summary

Community Shield: 1-2 loss (Arsenal)

Super Cup: 1-0 win (Man City)

Capital Cup: 2-0 win (Newcastle)

Club World Cup: 5-0 win (River)

FA Cup: 2-0 win (Fulham)

Champion's League: 3-1 win (United)

For so long...so long I was in prime position to take the league and 6, yes 6 trophies for the year...but it all fell apart. There was a month of football, where I was playing a game every 2 or 3 days. I just couldn't cope. My players were understrength, both starters and the rest of the squad. I was picking up injuries (to the first 3 strikers and a key CM). It was just too much. After 21 league games, 19 wins, 2 draws....it was spectacular...and even those draws should have been wins. Then I had a tough spell of games. Beat Spurs 3-0, drew with United 1-1, beat Liverpool 1-0, lost to Arsenal 1-0 (gulp). The next 6 games saw 5 wins, and an unfortunate draw at home to Leeds (grrrr).

Then it happened. fixtures everywhere, no time to recover. The Quarter finals of the CL against Bayern, the semis against PSG....no opportunities to rest...and the league was the sacrifice. Another 1-0 loss to Arsenal, and consecutive losses to City and Newcastle, and I was done. From being ahead of Arsenal with 2 games in hand, they were ahead of me by 2 points and we'd played the same amount. They didn't lose their remaining couple of games, so despite my amazing 2-1 victory when I was down to 9 men within 40 minutes at 0-0 on the last day, I couldn't pull it back.

I'd got 94 points, and lost the league by 2 points. In the process they broke the (real life) record of 95 points Chelsea had set.

Ahhhhhhhh

Edit: Oh, and I have no idea how I didn't get in the top 3 managers of the year. Very confusing.

The manager of the year award is weighted in favour of managers with less resources/lower expectations, last season I was beaten to the honour by the third-place getting/FA Cup winning Southampton manager despite winning the league.

I've just started my third save...

I chose Bremen primarily because of this chap:

And for the chance to use this image for my Nordderby reports...

And, of course, how can one resist that sexy diamond-patterned kit.

My squad isn't German enough, apparently...

All in all a solid window, a healthy 7.97 million GBP profit and some fresh bodies for the season ahead. Our wage output is very modest, plenty of room for growth in the future.

I opted to sell my best player, despite having a very healthy bank balance the board didn't offer me much to play with. The fact that I didn't have enough to activate Timo Horn's 3.8 million GBP release clause forced my hand, I tried to shunt some lesser squad players but couldn't drum up any interest. I tried to punt Elia for 20 but there were no takers, eventually Atletico and Porto came in at 13 and I accepted Porto's bid as they were offering the full payment up front. I reinvested the money in Samaras, the best left winger on the market. The rest of the money went into the aforementioned Timo Horn: he's only marginally better than my previous GK but he has greater potential, that release clause was just too good an opportunity to miss.

I decided to sell Gebre Selassie, he wasn't good enough defensively and I needed to free up a starting spot for my captain, Clemens Fritz. I invested the money into strengthening my midfield, nabbing Albin Ekdal for a relatively meagre sum.

So, my key signings:

ibp0Yz9hrOgvW7.PNG

An absolute steal with his 3.8 million GBP release clause, Horn should blossom into our long term goalkeeper and be a force to be reckoned with between the posts for years to come.

iIGRZisi6A0h2.PNG

Ekdal is another solid young signing, he immediately comes in and finds himself at the top of the pecking order in midfield and can play in either of the roles that I utilise.

ivDpV7k3GwLwD.PNG

Not quite on par with Elia but he was the best replacement available, hopefully my gamble pays off and he produces the goods on the left flank. He will rotate with Di Santo and can also provide emergency cover up front.

German international centre half on a free transfer? Yes please! Okay, he only notched up two caps and probably did so at the turn of the millennium but I'm claiming it.

And my 4-2-3-1 system. We'll be a full-blooded attacking outfit, come what may.

We've had an impeccable August, if we can keep this up we should exceed the board's expectation for a mid-table finish.

Hey where do you get the salary information from, I couldn't find it?

Also, do you do that thing to get the German national team in the game?

PSG just released Zlatan, despite having these stats:

Zlatan_Ibrahimovic_History_Career_Stats.

He was asking for 400k p/w so I signed him on trial ( I thought Zlatan didn't do auditions? )

First match for me, by total coincidence, is a friendly against PSG. Zlatan comes off the bench on 45 mins.

I must say, it looked much better during the match..

Anyways, at the end of it all, he has agreed to become my u-18's coach!

I have 2 Chelsea players left in my squad, Musonda, and Boga....and I only got Boga back on the cheap a year or two after accidentally losing him.

Just sold Cesar while I could get some money for him, and Oscar too. My idea is to shift Dankowski to CAM, and start Fitzgerald as ST (because he's too good to not be playing). Plus, I wanted to create a second striker spot for this guy...I spent A LOT on him (45million), but I think he'll be worth it in the long run.

One minute you're breezing past teams and exceeding expectations, the next you can't buy a win...

Click league, stats, team, click the 'overview' box next to 'team stats' and scroll down to 'salary per annum'.

This file gives you the real German national team and the real competition names: http://sortitoutsi.net/downloads/view/8116/fm14-real-names-fixes.

We're off to Argentina for a bit of sun and a friendly against Boca.

Started having trouble with my computer speed yesterday (unacceptable given it's a new computer).

It noticeably affected the speed of FM. I've tried restoring to a previous point to see if fixes it. Fingers crossed. I didn't enjoy the reduced performance.

I barely played 13 at all (not because it wasn't a good game, just because I had many things going on, and never really got sucked into it like other years)...

I'm loving 14, but I honestly have no idea if it's a big improvement or not, just that I'm playing it a lot.

And restoring my computer from a couple of days ago did the trick...it's running smoothly again. Happy.
