Which result was better?

Yesterday at Anfield saw us beat Liverpool with pretty much a second string team given we have a Champions league semi final on Wednesday and we've come away with a 2-0 win! Remember Liverpool had won 11 in a row and I think we were the last team to beat them! (At the Bridge 2-1). Negative football apparently is all a load of rubbish really and we've rattled a few thousand Scouse cages for sure!

In February we went to the Etihad where City had been scoring for fun... Not lost all season in the league and hadn't not scored there since a game v Birmingham in 2011! Everyone expected us to go and play for the 0-0 like at Old Trafford and the Emirates. We ended up winning 1-0 and hitting the woodwork a further 3 times! I was in the away end and it was surreal. Cheering every throw in we got like a goal.. Felt like a lower league side at a premier league side in the FA Cup!

The main similarity is at both times, City and Liverpool were both respectively in control of the league and looked set to win it but we managed to go and win and concede no goals! We have conceded more goals at Villa away than we have at the Etihad, Anfield, Old Trafford and the Emirates put together! So which one is a more impressive win?

Personally... I think the Liverpool one. To do it with a second string side was special especially given they needed 3 wins for the title. I loved City away as I was there etc. but yesterday was amazing.

Both mammoth jobs, in the City game we were a lot more dominant offensively, but the Liverpool one tasted much, much sweeter, given their big run and the growing sense of cockiness and entitlement.

In short, my Sunday couldnt have been any better.

I agree with the Anfield victory. We bossed the win at City and should have scored at least 4 more. But watching highlights of the Liverpool game especially after seeing the Scousers singing YNWA before KO only to be shown them in tears at FT made it that much more enjoyable. I wanted nothing more than for Liverpool to concede the title (whether it would be to us or City). The fact Stevie Wonder himself slipped to give us the upper hand before half time was the icing on the cake, with Fernando Torres supplying the Cherry for Willian to stick on top of a very delicious metaphorical cake. Mmmm!

I dislike Liverpool a lot more than I dislike City, but the win against City (at the time) opened up an entirely new chapter of our season and put us in pole position for the title race. As marvellous as it was to watch, the likelihood is that all we've really done against Liverpool is deny them the title (or at least make them wait an extra week). Based on that I have to say the City game, plus City are the better team so there is satisfaction in that too.

That said we have been spoilt for excellent results in big games this season - the 6-0 against Arsenal, the 4-0 against Tottenham, the 3-0 against Man Utd, the 2-0 against PSG... hopefully we have a couple more of them left in the tank!

Good question, would be Liverpool for me generally because of there fans and the media love in for them. I preferred the style of play and performance at City though. Lets not forget how arrogant City fans were on bluemoon before we played them.

Have to say the win over Liverpool but after the game at the Etiad stayed with a couple of City ST holders. I was trying not to gloat too much. Was difficult, though.
