Chelsea have completed the signing of Ecuador youngster Josi Quintero.

The 17-year-old youth international was formerly with Barcelona and was highly-rated at La Masia, but he has now opted to make the move to London.

Quintero confirmed the news himself over the weeked, posting pictures of him signing his Chelsea contract on Twitter and stating: "Happy to sign my first professional contract with this great club."

Chelsea are reported to have fended off capital rivals Arsenal to finalise the deal for Quintero, who has been labelled the 'new' Antonio Valencia in his homeland.

I know nothing of this kid but him been dubbed the new Antonio Valencia doesn't really fill me with hope.

Valencia was pretty good on his day, even now he can still do a job. I remember him being one of the few wide midfielders who could actually give Ashley Cole the runaround.
