Making a murderer only presents on side of the argument, if you have only watched that show you are not fully informed. I suggest you do research on the other side of the argument, the evidence says he is guilty. Edited November 14, 20169 yr by kiwi1691
November 14, 20169 yr I have seen both sides of the debate in a few other documentaries, I'm not the kind of person to see a one sided documentary and leave it there..... Imo they are both innocent of murder, after seeing how the police interviewed Brendan, and how another police officer lied (on oath) in court regarding the murdered girls car being found and also the amazing appearance of the keys after 10 million searches, these are all the things that swayed my thinking.
November 16, 20169 yr But the show, just by the title, already leans on disproving its main characters are not murderers. The Avery guy though, I think he should not be released. Dassey is a victim.
November 20, 20169 yr Intrigued by this thread I started watching the series and have just finished episode 8 when Stephen Avery is found guilty and Dassey's trial is starting. I am totally convinced that Avery is innocent, and that the local police planted the key and the bloodstains. It is completely implausible that he could have committed this crime without leaving more trace evidence on the scene. I can't even speculate about who might have done it, but I am horrified at the way he was presumed guilty from the start.
November 21, 20169 yr And now I have watched the last episode, where Avery and Dassey's requests for a retrial were rejected again and again. And in front of the SAME judge! Unbelievable. OK neither of these men is a particularly likable character, but good grief, you can't condemn people for that. The lack of any trustworthy evidence combined with the way these two policemen played with a young man's mind (mental age of about 8) and even the young man's own original solicitor co-operated with the police to trick him into a confession, was absolutely appalling.

I don't know what to think now! The police definitely planted the keys in Avery's trailer and coerced that poor fool Dassey into that confession but that isn't to say that they didn't do it. Dassey's transcript is pretty damning. There is not doubt that Avery was a bit "f**ked up"...but the fact there was no blood in the garage AT ALL suggests to me that something else is afoot. I JUST DON'T KNOW!! As a side-note, the Adnan Syed "Serial" podcast had me even more gripped than MAM did, but just like MAM, I don't really know if he did kill Hae or not. I would love to know.

Filmmaker Andrew Jarecki examines the complicated life of reclusive real estate icon, Robert Durst, the key suspect in a series of unsolved crimes.

I watched it almost a year ago and still have no idea about whether they did it or not! Avery is definitely messed up but i suppose that's what being locked up for 18 years for something you didn't do can do to you!
