Former Chelsea Captain is History's Greatest Sportsperson That You've Probably Never Heard Of

Featured Replies

I cannot believe that after all of my years swotting up on football that I've only just come across this bloke called Max Woosnam. He's basically an absolute f**king legend and captained Chelsea way back when in the 1920s but did a whole load of other sh*t around that. I would honestly have thought it was all made up had I not researched it but it all looks legit.

Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing Maxwell "Max" Woosnam...

I am going to try to store that name in my brain and hope that one day "Name any captain of Manchester City or Chelsea" comes up in Pointless.

Sad I know.

Don Bradman is still the best for me, having a batting average of 99 (I think) is beyond obscene, that would be like scoring a hat trick per match.

and then he flopped in his last ever innings to miss the +100 average! absolutely brutal, what a legend...

a one sport wonder though ;-) haha
