Posted March 7, 20169 yr I have one question. I'm an ex- owner of Bars, Pubs and Clubs in Malta. I have been thinking for quite some time about opening a Bar in Bugibba Malta that I will call (by your permission) "The Shed End". In fact I already designed the signage. My question is: Does any body know how can I get an idea of what are the approx. number of Chelsea fans that visit Bugibba, Malta? How can I get any statistics? If I succeed in achieving my aim, it will be a shrine for Chelsea F.C. I will have various TVs and Big Screens showing videos from past and present at the same time and cordless headphones for anyone that want to listen to any particular video. I will appreciate any ideas and info. Thanks.
March 7, 20169 yr No idea whether those statistics are even available, but your basic idea, however lovely for Chelsea supporters, does not strike me as a sound plan. You would lose a lot of customers, the ones who don't like Chelsea and the ones who don't like football. I for instance would rather perish of thirst than drink in an Arsenal-themed pub. Wouldn't a sports bar or even a non-themed pub make more business sense? Edited March 7, 20169 yr by Valerie
March 8, 20169 yr Does Malta have a Chelsea following at all? Agree with Val that may put those who dont like us very much off.
March 8, 20169 yr You can ask these guys if you haven't already http://chelseascmalta.com/ According to the Chelsea website they have 145 members - not going to keep the bar full everyday but good luck! http://www.chelseafc.com/fans/supporters-clubs/europe-list/supporters--club12.html
March 8, 20169 yr From a business standpoint, as others have said, you're marginalising a massive number of your potential customers by going with such a niche themed bar, and I could maybe understand if you were based in west london, but in Malta I really don't think that your demographic is large enough to be perfectly honest, as much as I love our club. You'd be much better off making it a general football themed bar with multiple screens and all that jazz and have it as the go-to place in your locale for football fans to watch matches. Sure, have a bit of chelsea memorabilia behind the bar/ on the walls etc to show your support, but target the bar at what would be a very small minority. Just my thoughts
