I actually remember seeing a Celtic supporter in summer of 1995 with a new home top with 

Ginola across the top of the back of the jersey.

It had been on the radio that Celtic were on the verge of signing David Ginola.

Of course, he signed for, Newcastle😀

I believe I've seen it in a book but I couldn't tell you which one. Imagine kids running on to the pitch during the kick-in and getting an autograph too. These days, they'd be arrested.

You're right, they would be arrested nowadays. Sadly fans getting close to sportsmen and women  - not just footballers - is long gone. Very different from years ago when footballers used public transport to travel to and from stadiums.

Back in 1983, I had a pal who worked at Stamford Bridge in the catering department. It was a part-time gig but the money was good. I went down there to see him every now and then and the manager of the place - I think his name was Brian - was a good bloke and there was a very beautiful well-spoken lady who was in charge of something. I can see her face but can't remember her name.  Anyway, one day I was there and Ray Wilkins and Bryan Robson were at the bar having a drink with a couple of the Chelsea players. I asked Robbo for a ticket for the FA Cup semi against Arsenal but he didn't have any and neither did Ray. Peter Rhoades-Brown knew someone and I had my ticket within the hour for face and in the United end too. They were happy just to talk football with anyone who was around.

Part of my mate's job was to keep the private boxes stocked with clean china, booze, and what have you. They were pretty smart for the 80s. In one box was a paper bag stuffed with money - tenners, twenties, there must have been a couple of grand in there, but he said it was pretty normal. Discarded ladies undergarments were also common.

Could not get a ticket for this game, Gutted. Glasgow Airport was packed with our supporters arriving on  the morning of the game, 

April 1973 and Bobby Charltons last game for Man Utd.

Shame you couldn't get a ticket. Did you go to the one a couple of years later? I went to both games in a Rangers supporters bus. 

It was great to sing both Chelsea and Rangers songs. I hope they play each other at the Bridge. I'd be inundated with requests from my family for tickets!

Yeah got a Main Stand central section just a few rows away from Frank Lampard Snr.

Atmosphere was great and I remember thinking how different it was to the Feb 1986 Friday night friendly ,

A great honour to Sandy having a stand at Ibrox named after him.

Strange to see Rod in a Rangers shirt given he now supports Celtic. Must have drunk too much!

If Stamford Bridge is ever redeveloped I wonder if any of the stands will be named after former players or managers. So many to choose from. Would be interesting to see the result if there was a vote.
