Floyd25 Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 I was gutted to hear that Sir Roger Moore had passed away, he was a childhood hero of mine, I was lucky enough to see him in person. Like may others, I enjoyed his films and his T.V work, from The Spy Who Loved Me and The Wild Geese to The Saint and The Persuaders. Rest in peace James Bond, Simon Templar aka The Saint, Lord Brett Sinclair, rest in peace Sir Roger Moore.
Nibs Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Yes RIP. Didn't realise he was as old as 89 and younger than Connery but still a shame. He was my favourite Bond simply because he was in the role when I a teenager and saw Bond films at the cinema. Can still recall now how blown away I was with the Lotus that turned into a submarine in The Spy Who Loved Me. Loved the humour he brought to the role and seemed like an all-round decent man.
charierre Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 RIP Roger. He was always more Simon Templar than Bond to myself. Fine actor.
Zola Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 A great bond, not my favourite, but probably my 3rd fav! Did many great movies. RIP
bluedave Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 He was Bond when I was a kid so he was Bond to me. 89 is a great innings, RIP.
Jezz Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Sad news, but a great innings. Not my favourite Bond, but certainly memorable.
Boyne Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 RIP Roger. Here's one of my favourite clips from a Bond film. I sure am, boy.

Jezz Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 I just read that the actor who played the Sheriff died last month at the age of 96 due to complications with diabetes.
