Everton fan in peace. Just visiting to see what Chelsea fans thought of yesterday's game and i wasn't surprised with your views. It goes without saying that EFC fans aren't happy with that style of play, but honestly, have Everton got the players to go toe to toe with Chelsea at the mo?  We tried that last season and conceded eight goals and scored none.

Allardyce is picking his games to go on the offensive, it will be different against West Brom on Boxing day.  As time goes by; he will change his traditional style of play as he will have better players available to him.

Everton showed total respect Chelsea by parking the bus, but by the same token, it was up to CFC to beat us. You have to give respect to Everton for denying you. Yes, it's frustrating that Everton are turgid to watch, but we can't afford to try and play offensive football, when we don't have the ability or confidence to do so and I think we've used up our quota of good luck for the season.

I'm not bring antagonistic, just stating a fact by saying that CFC have been relegated four times, in the period that Everton have been playing in the top flight. A bit of research found that from 1989, when you were promoted back to the  first division until 2003, when Abramovitch got involved, your average league finish was 10th.

Since then you've been brilliant and deserve all the plaudits. Just like Man City, United, Arsenal and the sh*te, have had their days in the Sun, Chelsea are also setting the Premier on fire. However, remember that these days don't last forever, you only have to look at the sh*te for an example of what goes up, must come down.

I repect the fact some posters expected better from Everton and even surprised that one fan admitted to using the same tactics when you played Man City. Everton are getting back to playing better football, but it's baby steps after the first quarter of this season.

I don't think Everton will ever reach the top six for a long  while, we don't appear to have the funds to do so.  However, staying in the Premier League is a must and to do that, I'm glad we have Allardyce. Finally I would like to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

No problems with your tactics we always need to find a way to beat the opposition, we failed yesterday despite having more chances and possession.

Interested in your opinion seeing that Everton's biggest recent win was under Unsworth, do you think the tide turned for Unsworth or do you think the players upped their game as Big Sam had just been appointed?

I'm curious as to how far he can take you. There is no doubt he is excellent in lifting sides out of the danger yet has not really won anything of note. Everton might give him a better base for doing that and the FA Cup approaches. Of course it might be that Big Sam is limited and cannot inspire players to win the big trophies. I'll be watching to see if this changes.

The West Ham game might have gone  sideways, if Lanzini had have scored his penalty; Everton'sconfidence was that brittle. However, four weeks on and it's a different  atmosphere around Goodison,  yes it was quiet yesterday but I think there was a bit of trepidation mixed with fear in there. :-)

As to how far Allardyce can take us, who knows? He's steadied the boat now and can look towards improving our performances. I think this is unknown territory for him as well as Everton, in the past he has only had poor teams to manage.

Although Everton are poor at the moment, we have got a lot of good kids coming through. He's definitely got to buy a left back and a striker in January, but there is a nucleus of a good squad. Or is that through my blue tinted glasses?

Either way; he's only on an eighteen month  contract, so if his style does not suit Everton, we won't have to pay out loads in compensation like we did for Martinez and Koeman.

well IMHO no Rooney hurt your lot - for CFC, not sure if the False 9 was the best option - but I won't question Don Antonio - IMHO after watching him lead CFC to the Title last season, he can attempt to do magic tricks with the roster - I won't look back in anger towards Don Antonio

Disappointing result but looking at the league City are breaking all the records .,..

In a normal season CFC  would still be in the mix. Just hope for some better performances Boxing Day and into the New Year.....starting Tuesday !

It's sad to see a team like Everton playing so badly. The premiership is in trouble if half the teams just park the bus. People will simply switch off.

Hopefully, Everton will be able to challenge again by playing expansive football, but it won't come over night, pragmatism has to be observed.  Most of the time the status quo is observed and the Sky six prevail over the lesser teams. However, as you found out recently with West Ham, it's not always the case.

I think Everton have reverted to a 90's "dogs of war" style of football, say all you want about Allardyce, but he has got Everton to believe in themselves and hard to beat. I don't think the likes of DCL, Lookman, Kenny, Holgate and Davies,  will enjoy playing backs to the wall football though. Plus we have Connolly and Dowell to return from on loan spells. I think we'll be well shot of Barkely the sh*tbag, in January to Spurs.

Allardyce has got too good a squad to continue playing the type of football he is known for. The hardest thing EFC have to do is to keep hold of the players. Everton have always been a selling club, going all the way back to 1968 when they sold Alan Ball, so it was no surprise when Stones and Lukaku went.

Anyway, guys that's enough about Everton on a Chelsea forum, thanks for reading and good luck for the rest of the season. I can say that knowing we won't have to play you again, unless we get you in the FA cup.
