Day in the life of a youth player - Billy Gilmore

Featured Replies

I found this video really interesting. I was especially impressed with how he watches and analyses Fabregas' playing style and also has an action plan where he needs to improve. This is the first time I've seen a video like this, so unsure whether all youth players are the same, but if so, the dedication to improve is obviously there.

Thought I would share it here as it gives a little insight into an academy player.

Seemed a good kid and if I am right from Northern England though could not place the accent.

Interesting to see and a get a little insight into the youngsters.

I notice he looked a bit small compared to the others and his parents were not tall and he also was aware  of this, perhaps he should be watching Hazard instead of Cesc though imagine the trainers / coaches already have an idea on his potential and think perhaps Cesc wild be a better match.

Interesting to see what they actually get up to on a day to day basis. Makes you wish you'd had a real go at football as a teenager, instead of working in an office.

We signed him from Rangers - he's Scottish.

Interesting how people from different countries eat different foods for breakfast.   As am American, I almost gagged watching Billy eat beans and toast for breakfast, whereas I know that this is the normal staple for Brits.   Toast is a norm here, but beans is definitely not something anyone eats for breakfast here.  Dinner - Yes, Lunch - Yes, Breakfast - No Way.

beans are quite a good all rounder as they contain some carbs, a lot of protein and fibre. the sugar in the tomato sauce is probably the only nasty. be interesting to see what they eat outside of the training facility though lol i can imagine there's some junk food sneaked somewhere.

Interesting to watch the development of this player. Scotland used to produce an abundance of good players who played in the top Division in England until relatively recently.

I use to see Jamal Blackman in Wimbledon Burger King on match days!
