December 10, 20205 yr First Maradona and now Paolo Rossi who has passed away aged 64. Who can forget his performances in 1982? Always in my best-ever Italy side up top with Luigi Riva. A sad loss. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/dec/10/paolo-rossi-italian-football-great-and-world-cup-winner-dies

To beat a fantastic Brazil side then West Germany in the final shows how good they were. Rossi was so skinny compared to the lumps we were used to seeing ! And that kit, quality RIP
December 12, 20205 yr RIP. One of the very very few that managed to get the Ballon D'or, WC title while being the best scorer of the World Cup all in the same time...
December 13, 20205 yr Author The game against Brazil - the team everyone thought was going to win it - was brilliant. As for the final, after the debacle of that semi-final against the French, I think the entire world with the exception of West Germany, wanted Italy to win. If memory serves, the Germans were up to all kinds of shenanigans in that tournament.
December 14, 20205 yr Going to be pedantic but this shouldn't be in the vintage section as good as a player as he was he's got nothing to do with Chelsea @Mod Stark can it be moved please to nearest and dearest.
December 14, 20205 yr Paolo Rossi and Remi Moses in April 1984. Rossi scored in both legs of the ECWC Semi Final for Juventus. Vintage Footy Twitter.

They played out the fixed 1-0 against Austria and thus eliminated Algeria. @erskblue if your picture of Remi Moses and Rossi was at OT, I was at that match. Juventus were far too savvy for United that night after what had happened to Barcelona the round previous. Funny thing was after tickets were fetching silly money outside the ground for the Barca match, my mate couldn't attend the Juve match and we couldn't even get face value outside for ground for his ticket.

No idea, just saw the picture and I remembered Rossi scored against Utd. Double checked and found he’d actually scored in both legs .

The Barca game (2nd leg) was the highlight of that season. Juve were a different proposition.
