Yes of course. But you can imagine if Kenyon had come out with an equivalent comment about Benitez. We'd get hour after hour on the likes of Talktrash and half a rainforest worth of newspring about Chelsea disrespecting bloody Liverp**l again. Not that I'm a fan of Kenyon's you understand. But the point remains the same.

How do you fancy your chances?

Milan look a top side from what I've seen v Utd over the 2 legs!

last night surprised me. I dont think i have ever seen an italian team play at that tempo before, and they kept it up. That first half last night reminded me a lot of the first half in istanbul a little, but it was far more intense. I dont actually think they are as good as they were two years ago, the strike force is nothing in comparison to Sheva (then) and Crespo in my opinion. If they play like they did last night we're in for a real difficult task, we can easily cope with the way they played first leg, i reckon.

really glad its them rather than the mancs though. wouldnt have fancied them at all

Interesting. I thought they played much the same in the first leg until Gattuso went off. It was only then that they lost control of midfield.

My bet is that Benitez will strangle the life out of the game and hope to nick it 1-0 or on penalties. I'm not expecting him to make the same mistake that he did in the first half last time but I think Milan will be ready for it too.

I think it will be a very tactical match and unfortunately, I think Liverpool have every chance.

there is a possibility of strangling the game, but the alst two european finals weve been in there have been 15 goals, so who knows. It will come down to how well we cope with Kaka i reckon. I can see mascherano or arbeloa being given a man marking job on him. He is the key to beating them. Gillardino and Inzaghi arent great in my opinion, and the rest of the midfield are class but dont pose the same threat as Kaka.

If we keep him quiet, we win. thats my take on it.

Dignity and class from the scousers as always :-)

What a bunch of twats... Jose is the only one talking sence to me. last month when he said, do we still think we would have been in a job if he had Rafa's record.. not a bit of it.... we would have been well hacked off as well as Roman if he had F**cked up every other trophy they had played for to the expense of the Champions league/FA Cup. I think it would be Jose's and Fergie's come to think of it dream to play for one trophy a year.

Rafa's penalty wins in Europe are papering over the cracks of their assault on the premiership.

Would Roman be happy with an FA cup penalty win, Champions Lge penalty win and Charity shield in the past 3 years?

the penalty win is irrelivant. Chelsea fans of all people should know that the result is what matters. Would Jose be happy with a FA Cup, a Champions League and a charity shield win? (if we're including charity shield we should include super cup as well, although i admit it too is mickey mouse)

No, i dont think he would, but as much as i hate it we are not on the same table as chelsea and united, yet. When Jose took over you already had the cash, and a number of the players you needed. To win the league first time was a great acheivement but things were in place to help him. When Rafa arrived here the same season we had finished 4th and had a pretty poor squad. This seasons league form is really, to me, Rafa's only disappointment since he took over. He hasnt f**ked up the other competitions to consentrate on champions league, he has just not managed to put together the performances in the league.

Not when you consider Jose has won the league TWICE in 2 years and will poobably be runner up this season. Has reached the FA cup final, won 2 League cups, and a charity shield. So 5 trophies in 3 years (with 2 titles 1 runner-up) and in another final V Utd and is still being critisised for our style of play. Some even want him to go!?!

Playing Crouch up front for a punt and flick on doesn't inspire me but Rafa seems to escape any digs from the media with regards to your style of play!

i couldnt give a f**k what the media want to say about us, i enjoy watching some of our games, i despair at some of them, but it has nothing to do with a media that somehow contrive to think that Gerrard was man of the match on tuesday!

Liverpool are the Germany of club football...dire football needing penalty shoot-outs to win games

does that make you England? Dire football, with players who should play better, losing on penalties in a semi? Just asking!

Add to that the failure to live up to expectations after an exceptional start. Ok that's taking the England analogy a bit far but still.

Someone deleted my Rick Parry comments...

Spooky.

they have probably been removed in order that they can be framed. They were incredibly good. It also rhymes with Slick Larry, which is a pretty cool name.

You sure you don't mean Sick 'arry?

I don't think either of us are really in a position to point fingers about playing style after the drivel served up by our 2 teams in the semi final.

You're right there. During the first half of the first leg, we played well and were by far the better team. For the second half of that match we looked tired. The second leg was gripping and nailbiting for supporters of both clubs, but even I have to admit that as a spectacle, it must have been piss-poor for your average neutral supporter.

we didn't need penalties to win two premierships...that's why you haven't come close in 17 years...doesn't take a genius to work out benitez will play it against milan icon_rolleyes.gif

  • 3 weeks later...

this...let's laugh at the toss*r

?It is bitterly disappointing to lose ? it is the worst feeling in the world to lose a final.

?It doesn?t matter getting to the final ? it?s all about winning it. Our fans are the best in the world and they deserve to be celebrating.?
