Both teams have had good chances and the game has been scrappy in places. Butland made a fine save. Tom Lawrence has had a good game given he's just come back from injury. He was out for a year.

Get in there! Rangers have upped the tempo in the second-half. Have had some good chances. Shame that Lawrence had to go off injured.

Great result for Rangers. Needed a good start in the Europa League after the disappointment of the Champions League.

Good win for Rangers last night. Real Betis are a good side and showed it at times last night.

Excellent win last night, played really well and should really have won by more with a bit more composure in front of goal. 

As expected the Spanish side were full of snidey, cheating little w**kers desperate to get players booked. That f**kwit going down holding his face after being "caught" in the chest by an arm for example. Someone should halfed the c**t next tackle.

RANGERS Football Club can confirm it has parted company with men’s first-team manager, Michael Beale.

The Rangers board would like to put on record their thanks to Michael and his staff for their efforts since joining the club last November.

Results this season have fallen short of what everyone connected to Rangers would expect.

Therefore, the decision was reached today to terminate the contract of the manager, as well as the contracts of coaches Neil Banfield, Damian Matthew, Harry Watling and Jack Ade.

The club is pleased to announce that Steven Davis will lead the interim management team.

The team will consist of former Rangers player and hugely experienced coach Alex Rae, former Rangers player and current coach Steven Smith, coach Brian Gilmour, and goalkeeping coach, Colin Stewart.

Rangers Chairman, John Bennett, commented: “I’d like to thank Michael for his dedicated work since he re-joined the club as manager last November.

“It is clear that results have fallen well short of the board’s, Michael’s and our supporters’ expectations.

“The search process for the new manager is already underway. I wish Steven Davis and the interim management team every success - they will remain in charge for as long as it takes to make the right appointment.”

Sadly, recent results haven't helped Beale. Saying that some of the players haven't performed as well as they should have. Reading through comments on the Rangers fans forum Follow Follow and in Rangers Facebook pages a lot of criticism of team selections and substitutions. The board has also come under criticism.

Frank is a fan of Rangers and I remember the pre-season friendly between Rangers and Chelsea at Ibrox when he received a great reception. Have read some of the comments on the Rangers fans forum Follow Follow and on Rangers pages on Facebook and most are not keen on him being given the job. Most argue that great player that he was that he failed as a manager. A topic that has been discussed much on this forum.

I think that whoever is appointed has a difficult job and it could take some time to sort out the problems on the pitch. As for problems off the pitch how much is that down to the manager? Or to the board?

I would like him to go there as think he would get a decent chance to show what he has got, though if you are a Rangers fan I can understand why you may not be keen.

He has not won anything yet as a manager.
