Agree, a shocking decision by the referee. The Celtic player should have been sent off. Could have caused serious damage to Butland. We all remember what happened to Cech at Reading.

Club Statement

THE handling of key incidents during Sunday’s semi-final has again raised legitimate concerns about the consistency of refereeing in Scottish football.

Club representatives met with the Scottish FA this evening to seek explanations for major decisions in the match, including the incident involving Jack Butland and Auston Trusty.

Following that meeting, we remain unsatisfied with the explanation of the referee’s decision in that incident, the application of the Laws of the Game, and the VAR review itself, which we do not believe was sufficiently robust or thorough.

We recognise that refereeing decisions can impact both sides in a game, but too many important matches continue to be influenced by calls that are inconsistent and difficult to justify. These decisions have real consequences, determining results, impacting fans, and affecting the livelihoods of players, coaches and staff whose work is judged by outcomes on the pitch.

The club has consistently raised issues as they have occurred with the Scottish FA, but we do not feel there has been enough change in how refereeing is being developed at the highest level.

We understand and share the anger among our supporters, who have grown frustrated at the repeated inconsistencies in major match decisions that continue to affect the club.

For the benefit of our supporters and the wider game in the country, we will continue to hold the Scottish FA to account and expect them to lead meaningful progress that delivers lasting improvement.

Absolutely baffling how VAR was bought in to resolve such issues and it just seems to do nothing highlight the inconsistency even further.

You're right. I read that one of the reasons that a red card wasn't given was due to lack of force. A daft reason especially as the head needs to be protected. Over the last few years much has been done by both codes or rugby to reduce injuries to the head.

Will be interesting to see the result of the study. Remove the screens at the both ends of the Govan Stand. Also fill in the gaps at both ends of the Main Stand? If changes are made will they be completed before Stamford Bridge is redeveloped!

Rangers Kick Off Ibrox Feasibility Study

Rangers Kick Off Ibrox Feasibility Study

RANGERS has begun a wide-ranging feasibility study that will help shape the future of Ibrox and identify immediate ways to improve the matchday experience for supporters. The work is designed to give the club a clear understanding of what is possible across the full stadium campus in the years ahead.

The study will look closely at the stadium’s current set-up, overall infrastructure, as well as assessing capacity needs and options for future expansion. It will also explore how we can improve matchday life for fans, from bar and social spaces to general facilities across the stadium and surrounding areas.

As part of this, the review will consider the future use of Edmiston House presented by Park’s Motor Group, the G51 site and existing office spaces, and how these areas might be better used on matchdays.

Opportunities in hospitality, retail and other supporter areas will also be examined. Protecting and celebrating the club’s heritage will remain central to the process.

Supporters will play a major role throughout. Consultation will take place through focus groups, interviews and a full fan survey launching later this year. The Fan Advisory Board will be involved, along with the Rangers Supporters Association, the Disability Matters group, the Copland Collective and Club 1872.

All of this will feed directly into the recommendations that follow.

Fraser Thornton, Rangers interim Chief Executive, said: “This is an important project for the club.

"We want to build for the future in a way that is sustainable and ambitious, while also identifying the steps we can take right now to improve the matchday experience and what we offer our fans. Supporter input will guide that work.

“The outcome of this process will give us a clear set of choices for both the short and long term.

We’re fiercely proud of the club’s roots in the Ibrox and Govan communities, and we know our role in Glasgow is significant.

"While this phase focuses on our fans, we fully recognise that local residents, community groups and elected representatives will have an important part to play as the project develops. Our aim is to keep investing in this part of the city and to play a positive role in its future.

“We encourage all supporters to take part in the survey when it opens.”

The club will share updates as the work progresses.

Another good result last with the win against Hibs. One of our former players, Dujon Sterling provided the assist.

Next league game is away to Hearts. That will be a good test for Rangers.
