.. of a result. Yes, sure, 2-1 away from home can be mooted a good result. But seriously, after the way we played, I think its a disgraceful result. We should have won the game by 3, 4, or 5 goals to nil.

I don't know what everyone here thinks, but the way I saw it, Drogba wasted nearly all our opportunities. He took shots when pass' were on, he was playacting again, trying ridiculous shots when other players were in better positions. If he had played a few players in around the penalty box in the 1st half then im sure we would have scored a few.

Why in the world would you take Joe Cole off in the last few and play Anelka on the right wing? Oh, he was crap on the left so now let’s try him on the right? Why wouldn't you take Drogba off on the 60th when you could see him wasting all chances and give your new striker a chance? Why, oh why would you not bring on a defender, if you wanted to take Lamps off and push Essien in MF who is more effective pushing on and being that monster, than Mikel is playing slightly upfront?

All said and done, I expect us to come out all gunz blazin and score 12 goals in the first half next week. I think Avram is a genius and Roman is God.

The Titanic was a disaster!

Losing to Sp*rs is a disaster!

Getting the away goal in the Champions League and only needing to win 1-0 at home aint quite a disaster mate.

Want to feel better?

If we lose our next home game, Avram will be replaced -> Our next season is fresh of hope

If we win our next home game, Chelsea will advance to the semifinal. -> possible first trophy

Either way, we are in a win-win situation

Sorry my friend, but I think after our 'performance' the result is a disaster. We had the game, we threw it away. This is a team full of 'world class' (whatever little meaning that term holds now) players and to go away, to play like we did (we had the game by its little nutters) and then to throw it away, to have no answer to their 2nd half strategy, to have no idea on how to combat their renewed attack (Grant's face on the bench had 'clueless' written all over it) - is quite a disaster for a club that has ambitions, top players and funding to be one of the top clubs in the World.

We really should have put the tie to rest last night - we had the chance, we created the chance(s) - but failed. Yes you can blame the players (Drogba was pathetic) and/or you can blame the manager (Grant was pathetic) and/or you can blame the opposition (Ok Kezman didn't score, but Zico did, twice).

Sure we need just a 1-0 to get through, and in all probability everyone expects us to get through (Just as TT how much money he's going to put on a win and us through in the return leg), but we have aspired to be a TOP side the past few years and with the players we have we really need to finish games, especially when we create enough chances to.

If I was in the vicinity, i'd walk up to the training ground and kick Drogba in the sack.

Whilst im still amazed at what happened last night (and now have no doubt that whatever happens Grant is not the man) as Glory says it ain't no disaster.

Come Tuesday night at 10pm, yes we could be in disaster mode, but lets wait and see what happens first.

Think my point is being missed.

I'm not talking about getting through over the 2 legs.

I'm talking about the ability that a team like Chelsea should have to

1 - Put a game to rest when we are in control and have created many chances.

2 - Have an answer to a weaker oppositions 2nd half tactics.

3 - Have the vision to see that our lead Striker has exercised his brain cells by smoking way too much ganja and should be replaced at half time by our new striker whom we paid a lot for and have harldy used, in his position.

... amongst other mishaps of last night..

Might I add,

It's like losing to Spuds and then beating West Ham 4-0 and everything is forgotten.

How is Grant even allowed to manage in Europe without any qualifications? I hope UEFA fire him; then again, they're probably havin a laugh so they wont.

Losing Spurs was a disaster!

Losing Barnsley was a disaster!

Losing Champions league will be a disaster!

Losing the title when we have a chance to catch manu will be a disaster!

Losing all the cups, titles and remains trophy-less with most key players leaving and GRANT still REMAINS as chelsea MANAGER next season is DISASTER OF ALL DISASTERS.........

When Grant needed to make substitutions, he chose the wrong players to bring off, Drogs should have been replace by Anelka at half time.

Was puzzled by Essien playing RB, why not Beletti, with Essien in the middle instead of Maka.

And as for Malouda.........should not even be playing.

We have a situation that if we are trophyless, Grant Goes or if we win either EPL or CL Grant stays.

Thats the dilema? 300.gif

We will all forget this loss when we cruise to an easy 2-0, 3-0 victory at SB. Even 1-0 is enough for us. So lets forget this for now.

This is what I thought just after we lost. If we fail to qualify against Fener, Grant will be sacked. If we go through we are among 4 in CL. Win-Win as June said it. Sounds good to me.

Not a complete disaster as I see it, Fenerbahce don't travel well so we should get a result. But what worries me is our away record of late. It's been not great, the semi's worry me.

The thing is it's a trend: we started by nearly throwing away matches - now we are throwing away matches.

In the post match interview Grant said "We went to sleep" - I think he was talking about him and Top Cat as I didnt see them pacing the touchline trying to turn things around.

I dont care if we manage to win the CL and/or the PL ... Grant MUST GO.

Totally agree with that too

Its a very good point. Zico was out there directing his troops and Grant just sat there.

It reminded me of the England/Croatia game where Slaven Bilic patrolled the touchline getting soaked to the bone and McClaren stood under an umbrella looking glum.

Regarding the Dutch bloke, i have absolutley no idea what he brings to the set up.

None.

Me thinks it was a disaster for all the fans who paid a lot of money to go out there and support the boys, I thought the drive back from Barnsley was grim, cant imagine how the flight home feels 317.gif

Come on Chelle!

Thats what happens when you follow a football team, sometimes its great, sometimes its not great.

The supporters (my old dad included) who went out there will have had a good time regardless of the result, they know its all to play for now!

Its not all about winning all the time,Chelsea is Chelsea regardless.

Get some perspective people!

This site is fast becoming dominated with posters with crazy over-blown expectations.

So going to Barnsley with the intention of a win is a crazy over blown expectation 317.gif

I am pointing out that I feel sorry for those who pay to go and support the team and get to see a display like they saw last night, or the Barnsley & Boro' games....it costs a lot to be a supporter and if you support a lower league team you dont have so much in the way of expectations, being a Chelsea fan the expectations are high.

We want to win, dont we icon_eek.gif

I agree with you Chelle.

For me to watch a home game it cost me at least £150, thats not counting food, drink and if I travel on the same day.

So if there are such poor performances, surely the fans HAVE a right to say how they feel, and not be shouted down by others.

I have supported Chelsea for 40 years now, so i am seasoned Chelsea supporter and followed them throught the good days and the bad days.

If people on here continue to put down people on here who views so not correspond with theirs, then this forum will have less members over time.

You can imagine how much it costs for me, I am blessed with 2 teenage kids who go with me to every game - everything costs me 3 times as much. 346.gif

Sometimes I do feel beaten down by others when I give my opinion on here - that does discourage me to use the site more so you do have a point there, I suppose what we have to accept is we all think differently.
